What Languages

Post by Eshlannch »

I wanted to ask this question here. I would like to create new forum software and I know basic programming languages (HTML, CSS, Java, jQuery) from the Complete Web Developers 2.0 course on Udemy.

However, I can't find much information on what languages I would need to know in order to create a great new forum program. I want to learn, just trying to find a direction.

Any help on where I need to focus my time would be grateful.

Any forum software will need to interact with a database, like MySQL. If I were you, I would first do a little research on databases. Next, I would try to find a project where you practice adding to and getting information from a database. After that, then you can decide if the code and database you used will help you reach your goal. Keep in mind this might be a MUCH bigger project than you expect. Bad database design can completely break a project and prevent it from scaling.

Good luck!

I almost flagged it, but figured it was a good question to answer.
