Gaming music
Music in games (especially older ones. I'm talkin Atari) I would say is a huge part of the gaming experience. I know I actually have a few songs from games on regular playlists of mine, maybe I'm just a nerd. Anyone else play a game where the music really stood out?
Personally Golden Sun - Isaac Theme always got me. I could also mention things like Gerudo Valley or really most of the songs from the Zelda universe ( Except for the cd-i games. please, for the love of everything ignore those). I swear if anyone posts one of those shitty Ephixa dubstep mixes I will hunt you down

Heh Misery lately I've been doing it the other way around, 8-bit remixes of metal songs, like this one.
Renegade, holy hell. I watched a couple recommended videos about that game, and it looks beautiful, gonna have to check it out

That's totally bas ass.Clutch wrote:Heh Misery lately I've been doing it the other way around, 8-bit remixes of metal songs, like this one.
Also, back in the 90's I borrowed my friend's Sega for a weekend to play (and beat) Sonic the Hedgehog. That is my only exposure to the game, but for some reason I can always pick out the soundtrack when I hear it -- but couldn't hum the tune right now if my life depended on it.
Music is weird.

Oh man, the nostalgia. That game reminds me of when I was a kid, going over to my buddies house and playing that and Contrasinewav wrote:That's totally bas ass.Clutch wrote:Heh Misery lately I've been doing it the other way around, 8-bit remixes of metal songs, like this one.

Re: Gaming music
Love any Legend of Zelda music as well as Final Fantasy music. And on a side note if anyone has ever played Quest 64 you might notice that the fight music sounds similar to that of the final fantasy series.

Might as well repost this:
Minecraft Theme Song by DeepSpacePilots
My friend's son must have started playing Minecraft because my friend certainly does not. The music seeped into his brain until he recorded a psychedelic rock version of it. (Note, my friend is one of those music genius types and probably started playing it by accident in the basement, then was like "oh, this" and simply recorded the rest of the music on the spot.) Fun fact: I head his recording before I heard the original theme. I've never played Minecraft and saw it for the first time a couple months ago when another friend's kid was playing.
Outside of the music I wrote for Arma, I've never recorded game music. However, this thread is inspiring me to right now...

Hotline Miami has a pretty great soundtrack, though, it starts off pretty slow.
