Questions about American History
I need a lot of questions about american history that any fifth grader would be expected to know (ala "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?").
I want to make a fun facebook app oriented around the election, and I can throw this bitch together in a few days, if the questions are provided. So I'm crowd-sourcing the questions.
What have you got? A fifth grader should be able to correctly guess the answer at least 70% of the time.
Details of the app are being withheld, pending further development.
Edit: They need to be multiple choice, and you should provide 4 answers, where only one of them is the correct answer. You shouldn't have to provide the correct answer for me, if I don't know it, I shouldn't be writing this app.

Go to any school and say you are a producer of that show and would like to see some tests of 5th graders. Or you can tell them the truth, but that will make them less eager to help.Lucifer wrote:I need a lot of questions about american history that any fifth grader would be expected to know (ala "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?").
There's a difference between knowing your shit, and knowing you're shit. Grammar does matter.

You do realize that the multiple choices are supposed to be ostensibly plausible, right? That's more like 1st grade, too.Fippmam wrote:Who was the first president of the United States?

Don't think they'd know that quite yet, maybe the next year. And the Iraq one is silly; you don't inject politics. Also, that's not multiple choice; see the two formats that preceded yours.Word wrote:Who visited China?
Nonsense. Most would I think be happy to let you have a look at the 5th grade history text, possibly even let you buy one. 'Course, he's in Texas, so the legitimacy of its contents may be questionable. You could also check out used and surplus bookstores. Doubtful they'll have surplus of the current edition, but possibly a previous one. How about your kids' teachers? I don't know their ages.nux wrote:Go to any school and say you are a producer of that show and would like to see some tests of 5th graders. I have a few JCPS American History texts, but they're all middle or high school.
Re: Questions about American History
You could always tweak the multiple choice part - put whatever names you want.
Another good question would be "What year did the American civil war end?" or or or "Who discovered the new world?"
Heh i know the answer to the second question is technically the Indians, but i meant the dude who came on the ship in 1492.

Oh and Kyle, -.- "Nomads" would be referring to the neanderthals that discovered the continent 30,000 years ago.
K i'm tweaking the question to avoid ambiguity.
"What European explorer sailed to the New World in 1492?"
