Oh, I didn't even pay attention. Boring music, so. Also, because of where you put the parenthetical, I thought you referring to something about Oasis.

BTW Phyto, I found a St Vincent video yesterday. I don't really get what the video's reason of existence/purpose is, but it's always enjoyable to see her.

This is probably a stupid question, and to some people it may seem like I'm saying this for certain people, but I have a few genuine questions: What exactly was it about the Beatles that made them so famous? Was knowledge of basic chords lacking at the time? Because that is what if feels like when I listen to them; some basic shit. I like the Beatles, I think they have some catchy tunes, but their music is very...basic. Almost like I'm listening to Taylor Swift, but years before, and without the shame. I'm not really seeing where they "revolutionized music" as my "Guitar World" magazine claims. That being said, I wasn't born in the damn 60's, so maybe I'm missing something. Phyto has mentioned "appropriators", I'm curious as to what he means

Well, it's not just the music. They had quite a lot of charisma and looked/talked like the boys from the neighbourhood; they had the same opinions and experiences as most people their age. It helped that this image was cultivated by their management and in the films. As for the music and lyrics, I'm not really sure how you don't hear the difference when you compare them to most of what came before. Here's an article according to which they merely accumulated the innovations/influences and traditions known at their time and put them together in an original way (which is an achievement in itself, obviously - and certain songs, most famously "A day in the life" were something completely new anyhow). Did you only listen to their early work? Well, I think the others can answer the music part better than I can, but another part of their appeal is that they also used a combination of the newest technologies available as well as old, foreign instruments nobody in the West was used to (sitars and the likes).
