Yeah, regarding clones, also keep in mind that this whole project is a clone on multiple levels 
Gameplay started as a clone of plain old snake type 2D tron games, rubber and wall acceleration were added as mutations. The "Advanced" branch was cloned of plain old Armagetron and mutated itself some HUD. HexaTron mutated off that and was integrated back in the form of maps. The Sty branch mutated off the main development and peacefully coexists with it. Clones are good. I can see Obsi's servers developing in two directions: He'll tweak some settings, one after the other, or Ww will tweak some settings. The servers will diverge, and at some point, Obsi is going to notice that Ww mirror is no longer a good name; he'll change it then. He'll also notice sooner or later that he can't really maintain ten full CTF servers at a reasonable quality; at that point, he'll stop spamming the server list. That's one way; the other way is that the servers will just vanish like so many servers before them. If they're missed, someone else will set up new clones.
Just to state something that is too easily forgotten: We are glad the Ww servers exist and support the way they're run. In any player vs Ww server admin dispute, we'll side with Ww. We appreciate all the hard work put into running the servers. We love the Ww servers.
But we feel that way about all servers by default, there is nothing special about Ww to us. Having been around for a bit and having a large player base gives Ww a bit of a higher status than your average server admin shmoe, but that doesn't change that Ww's power ends at the gates of their servers. There are exceptions possible where we may take action on a global level to get rid of a particularly annoying player or server or to protect the rights of a group, but so far, nothing like that has been necessary and this surely isn't the right case to start. And we surely don't react to blackmail via threatened server shutdowns. Ultimately, servers are easily replaced. They're expendable.
Ok, let me ask one question differently: When was Obis banned from the Ww forums? Oh, screw this, I'll look it up myself. His last posts are on this page, early Monday morning. First mentioning of the possibility of a relaxed rule server is after his last post. That means: It is very much possible that Obsi didn't even have the chance to read about the compromise, it's possible that he saw the 'Macho' server, however, and it's certain that he didn't get a chance to read about the apology for the misguided naming. Therefore, the "we did everything possible to please the 1vs1 supporters, yet Obsi ignored that and put up his evil clone army anyway" argument doesn't hold. And I don't think banning dissenters qualifies as trying sugar.
Again, we love the Ww servers, and of course everyone is free to run their forums and servers how they please. Just don't come running to us asking to nuke those people you annoyed.
