how long until sco goes bellyup?

Post by n54 »

in the long run sco has actually done linux and gnu gpl a tremendous favour (as things are going to get increadibly squeaky clean) but that doesn't stop me from wishing them sent to dev/null/

anyway, here's an article from linus thorvalds i happened to stumble across:
http://www.computerworld.com/softwareto ... 64,00.html
"So not only is Darl wrong when he attacks the GPL as being somehow against "financial gain;" the notion that the GPL has, of "exchange of receipt of copyrighted works," is actually explicitly encoded in U.S. copyright law. It's not just a crazy idea that some lefty Commie hippie dreamed up in a drug-induced stupor." - Linus Torvalds
i love the "a crazy idea that some lefty Commie hippie dreamed up in a drug-induced stupor" one

if we communists can make things as good as the GPL when we're in a drug-induced stupor, imagine what we can do when we're actually sober :)

hehe Communist 1 - Reaganite 0

linus' parents were actually communist btw... but afaik linus is fairly apolitical (in traditional politics that is)

edit: and oh just not to confuddle you all the GNU GPL was made by Richard Stallman (http://www.stallman.org/) and he's about as far from communist as one gets

I love Windows (for gaming). I love Linux and FreeBSD (for stability). Of course, each is better at certain things.

Did I just say I love Windows (breaks into tears)?

Btw, sco will go down. IBM is a powerhouse. Won't take too long.

You could always just leave it at "I love gaming." With the ubiquity of the various Windows OS's on desktop computers, the gaming industry still focuses mainly on that platform which kind of leaves you little option. Therefore you can "love gaming" yet still love to hate Windows.

If you try hard enough, you can find reason in hating anything! Heh.
