Re: Win attacks - 'fort' type server

So you're telling me you want to be on a fort server and do a 2v1, grind and get in the zone before the other guy set up? I think it will be very funny indeed. It is possible to set up def reliably on even 1 deffing vs 3 attackers. Even if they grind as hard as they can. Just turn back right at sta...

Re: Win attacks - 'fort' type server

sorry, added edit to my previous reply: EDIT: are you really suggesting there is a problem with enforcing simple rule: winner of last round has no zone? That would satisfy them and would leave classic/reg fort servers for people who don't want to bother counting how many players are on/who won last ...

Re: Win attacks - 'fort' type server

Well, I'd suggest this host , it's reasonably priced, and top quality, you also get to choose where it's being hosted from. Do you know by any chance what ISP/hosting Fortress Cafe used? I have no idea, (someone will) but you wouldn't get much better than Rx, not to mention the awesome CP you get. ...

Re: Win attacks - 'fort' type server

Just play Fortress Onslaught. I might be missing something or the thing you mentioned is only played in US evenings, I join every server that has 'fort' in it during Europe hours and either get kicked for mentioning the absurdity of changing rules based on 7 <-> 8 players on (tradition ffs is the o...

Re: Win attacks - 'fort' type server

so simple to implement Well you seem to know what to do, why don't you make this server? If someone made it and gave me the files, I'll run it for a few months. It'd be a U.K server, and lagless. I won't make it though (I'm lazy) 8) , you can have that job, also, if it doesn't get played a lot in t...

Win attacks - 'fort' type server

Guys seem to love win att, no matter if it ends up 3 deffers vs 1 attacker for 10 minutes, this is it, forget fort, forget classic, forget reg, 4v3 means win att, why the f is there no server that enforces it and removes the zone from the supposed attackers (winning team has no zone, solved, so simp...

Time for armagetron mobile subforum?

With pandora, maemo and android(? one DesireZ reported running/playing, not sure if delinquents' own compile or if it is already in store) all having armagetron running maybe it would make sense to have a subforum to share tips and tricks how to get best fps/control etc on each device? I'm expecting...

Re: 0.2.8.3.2 released! (Plus, security issues.)

This happens under all the windows systems I've tried arma on. Maybe you could have told us earlier? Anyway, I can't reproduce the reported behavior. Maybe it only happens at certain times, for example while the masters are under high load? Does it get reproduced in a recording? If so, gimme that! ...

Yeah, sorry. Thought as release version matched this would be related, preffered to report in any case (especially the bad behaviour - pretending the system hangs)

Re: GLES Arma on Openpandoras

It's a pretty old model. It's advantage is the processing bandwidth. At default of 800mhz, there is still a surprisingly large amount of data that can be processed at any one time. ... It still struggles with 3d rendering a little, I reckon I can get full 3d at 25fps with a little tinkering. The gl...

Re: 0.2.8.3.2 released! (Plus, security issues.)

Latest binary release on Win8 hangs (probably master server down, but behaviour is absurd, freezes whole system). The wild binary alpha out there grabs mouse focus preventing alt-tab interactions, at least loads the server list (which means it's not a DOS???)

Re: GLES Arma on Openpandoras

19fps on my Desire Z o'c to 1,200 mhz. Running cm10.1 no less, but very responsive. And I have the advantage of a slide-out keyboard, it's almost like a miniature laptop. Online play over 4g next? :> Are you sure you got HW acceleration and not some mesa software rendering? The 4-5 was on software,...

Re: GLES Arma on Openpandoras

Thanks. Actually no code changes are needed (that's just how glshim works, yay!) but 4-5 fps is sadly a bit too low (tihs is on single core 600mhz cpu overclocked to 805, S4 with octa could be playable, though, not glibc environment, so it's not just 'make').

Android is a step away. Now HW acceleration on all kinds of ARM devices.

Re: How to make that game more popular?

To answer OP: Bring it to phones. GLES port will make every droid/ios/maemo/... user able to join. Of course pings will go high and might not be playable on tourneys, still would bring a lot new players (phone friendly servers could be a solution). Bounty posted for 50 euros at this time (http://tal...
