Or get it to pretend to always have 4 or 5 players :-P

No, really, the difficulty in finding a particular server has always annoyed me, that's one of the reasons I usually just use a server feed and --connect.

My client can also connect to regular servers in a hacky way. My vanilla version can chat and/or get all the player and team objects (for example to build a score table).

Luke-Jr has improved it a bit, I'm not sure what else his version can do, but it does handle authentication.

What i did in my code was apply a texture to the line that's rendered on top of every wall so they don't look weird with those gaps in them :-) I just tried adding train tracks to the floor: http://wrtlprnft.ath.cx/arma/?min=744 Maybe I should have made a bigger texture, though, this one looks a lit...

I guess this would take a little more work with display lists in place, although you might get away with changing the texture transformation matrix before calling the list. Here's a bigger movie with the spaces between cars made transparent: http://armagetron.at/~mathias/wildwest.avi (excuse my poor...

The biggest network problem is keeping compatible with pre-gradient colours. Protobuf :-) The easy and boring method would be to just to allow multiple colors to be sent and then loop over them for every rendered vertex. Old protobuf implementations would ignore them (or take the last one, dunno), ...

If it wasn't for the minimap I'd have no idea those were supposed to be stars :-)

Are the gradients just quick hacks or do they propagate over the network?

The most common geocentric view deals with the relationship of the Earth and the Sun, not other planets. Other planets obviously orbit the Sun. As far as I remember the view that Kopernikus was trying to disprove dealed with a model of the universe that tried to explain the movements of all heavenl...
