Re: Ladle 59 Date
Wow, this appears to be a much bigger issue than it should be. The EC happens every 4 years, and people have other interests outside tron. I thought this community was accommodating, perhaps I was wrong. It's pretty poor to dig your heels in say you won't move it, it's a very reasonable request. We ...

Re: Idea to make this game better...
Let me start off by saying sorry about not the whole WST thing I just got really busy. Idk if anyone has suggested this before but here it goes. The skill level between teams that play competitively in this game is very lopsided. Look at the best teams that play in the ladle vs. the worst teams tha...

Re: Apology
I think what Phytotron meant was simply that Venijns "opinion" is wrong because he has no argument to back it up whereas Phytotron has a good one. And yes, that's where the disagreement comes from. (And Venijn you said you didn't read all of Phytotron's reply - which was written solely di...

Re: Apology
There's a difference between you telling me that my opinion is wrong, and saying you disagree with it. No there isn't. That's what it means to disagree, man. In case you missed it, the line I put in quotations is mocking you, because it doesn't make a lick of sense. "I don't think you're wrong...

Re: Apology
There's a difference between saying you disagree with something, and saying that it is wrong. What's the point of holding an opinion if you don't believe it is right? Or disagreeing if you don't believe the other is wrong? "I disagree, but you're right!" >_< - That point was directed at y...

Re: Apology
You can't say my opinion is wrong.... Stop judging me. Yes I can, and no I won't. Buzz off with that muddled, relativist postmodernism. If you don't want people to disagree with your precious opinions, then don't state them. You are not a special snowflake. I stopped reading there. As tempting as c...

Re: Apology
You know their online persona, though. However shallow or inauthentic as compared to their offline self that it may be, that's what they've chosen to present, and I think it's perfectly justifiable to judge that for, and on the merits of, what it is. Just because someone is online doesn't mean that...

Re: Apology
However, I stand by my statement. In a community where in reality, you know few, or no people, why do I need to judge them on anything other than the game we all play? What do you call all the chat and forum posting and espousing of personal views and stories and demonstration of personality? Not k...

Re: Apology
Hey everyone.. so.. I don't wanna be all "trendy" and hijack this thread with my own drama, but.. I guess it's as good of a time as any to let you know.. The truth is - I am neither a shoe, nor a bat. In fact, nothing about me resembles either of these objects or any of their homonyms. Th...

Re: Apology
To me, Anders Breivik is a name on a screen. Does that make his crimes acceptable? There are valid reasons to act out a different gender as far as I can say Elmo isn't some persecuted victim who had to use a false identity to protect his or someone else's life [...] Where does the line regarding ju...

Re: Apology
the point is that according to your philosophy every mass murderer you don't know personally is OK too Not really, I assume this community has the intelligence to apply what I said correctly. I don't know Elmo enough, nor have I had any reason to get to know Elmo better, I just see them as a name o...

Makes no difference IMO, I always judged Elmer for his ability on the grid. Yup. Tron skills are what matters when determining character LOL - i like it. However, I stand by my statement. In a community where in reality, you know few, or no people, why do I need to judge them on anything other than...

Re: Aliases and the Ladle, Let's discuss and do something.
Good work on the stats sine. I think what you suggest is a really great idea, if we could monitor player's achievements with an increased focus on stats, it will discourage aliases and encourage others to participate. Having a 'profile' to work on and compare to others will change people's approach...
