I'm 80% sure the missing semifinalists were me and syllabear. (I can't check the wiki as it's blocked where i am atm, but i recall xyron wooping everyones ass in that semi, and gonzap getting 4th in the semi and then proceeding to win it in the finals?)

Re: Connect-4
How about adding arma acceleration? count the number of 'walls' adjacent to the path you take and for every two of them you get a bonus boost

For what it's worth, I first played online after armagetron was mentioned on Penny Arcade, which was in July 2003 (source)

Re: Dealing with a Center Attack
Figure A looks like an ideal situation for the center player, no? Looks like he can take at least a quarter of the zone and maybe even cut the whole thing in half.

Re: Z-Man's status update
Sucks about your phd z-man, in my mind you've been a phd student for as long as i remember so there must've gone a lot of work into it. Care to elaborate what your subject was about?
Good luck with the new job!

Re: Site design and updating it
I don't really care what cms is used; if the design is still wanted, theming/templating is easy for me. Back when I made the decision to go for wp it was mostly because I wanted to move away from the completely custom thing that Tank made for the old site because I felt it was a lot of rebuilding th...

Re: Site design and updating it
Yeah I made a wordpress theme/template here: http://kingsofthegrid.net/armanet/ I thought it would be easiest/best to just use wordpress and adjust it for our needs. But yeah I haven't touched in a year or so.

Re: Ladle 57
You're right psy, I should've made it clear that I wasn't talking about the SP team in this ladle but about those people who were there and are still here today haha It's just frustrating to see that back then there was this major fuss about it and pretty much resulted (in combination with the ladle...

Re: Ladle 57
Some certain clans have been very vocal against using aliased names in the Ladle. I guess it's not an issue if some of their members partake in what they consider cheating. I'm glad I'm not the only one who still remembers. SP seriously made us feel like shit for using aliases in ladle 35 (team bin...

Re: SCORE_HOLE (and holing in general)
To be a bit more exact: you get SCORE_HOLE points when you create a hole in an enemy's wall (by dying) and when your teammate goes through that hole. Getting points for just making a hole would a bit silly, since that happens every time you get killed :) The term 'holing' is pretty specific to zone ...

Re: Hardcoded coordinates of wheels in the .mod format
Thanks, I expected that, but what i really wanted to know is how to move from the coordinate system of the cycle_body.mod to the ones in cycle_front.mod and cycle_back.mod (they don't use the same coordinate system do they?) and how they all relate to the actual point where the cycle is.

Re: 0.4 Content: Graphics Dump
Is pike's model (as seen in pre's movie i think) considered to be enough 'cycle' to be eligible to be chosen for 0.4?
