Try Ubuntu/Kubuntu, the only "easy to use" linux that I would recommend.

Colour code pros: =============== In server names, if done sensibly, can look good and help to differentiate different servers from each other and also give a similar look to servers owned by the same people/clan. In team chats they can help differentiate between attacking and defensive orders. Cert...

From Googling it seems that the policy is to not include '/usr/local/lib' in the search path by default. I spoke to the Debian experts in #debian. I said "/usr/local/lib" is in '/etc/ld.so.conf'. They said that '/etc/ld.so.conf' is for run-time not compile-time. They said that libraries in...

I had the same issue a little while back. It seems that Debian/Ubuntu (hoop is on ubuntu) has a bug because, as usual, they have been fiddling around with things, in this case '/etc/ld.so.conf'. I don't use Debian any more as my main distro and I haven't looked back since.

The simple answer that |Pipe| was looking for is:

In the menu, set "Game --> Network Game --> Network setup --> Lag-O-Meter: Off"

As for 'settings.cfg' wtf? It's stored in 'user.cfg' as "LAG_O_METER 0". '0' means off and '1' means on btw.

Changing a setting in my BIOS allowed my S3 ProSavage8 onboard graphics chip to work. It crashed Arma exactly like the i810 and ATI Radeon 9200.

Ok, I have re-tested the Intel i810 onboard graphics chip on my old motherboard and added the necessary information to a comment after my bug report on Launchpad. https://bugs.launchpad.net/armagetronad/+bug/245925 I tried to also test the S3 ProSavage8 onboard graphics chip on my current motherboar...

I may be interested but I worry about our lame community like I told you the other day. I think it seems to be even harder to get people to turn up for matches than it used to be. If we do this then I think allowing considerably larger squads might be a good idea. Many clans would benefit from inclu...

I don't regularly correct people's English but in this case I think (and hope) you meant "bugs".

What are the GL_* strings for the Intel chip? Z-Man: To test the Intel chip (which is on my old motherboard) I will have to fully dismantle my current computer and replace its motherboard. Of course I am happy to do this for Arma. If you will need any more information other than GL_RENDERER, GL_VEN...

I play sumo and fort (and a little no rubber). Sumo is the main culprit. Try going on to Wild West sumo or Wild West team sumo when there are quite a few players on. I have an AMD 2400+ XP cpu, 256MB SDRAM (that amount is plenty for my OS because I don't use Windows/KDE/Gnome) and an ATI Radeon 9200...

Lucifer: Nice explanation.

If we are nit-picking then weren't what you guys are calling "blobs" actually called "bobs" (even though blobs would have been at least as good a name)?
