If we can find a server where both part would be as laggy (australian or any other), that would be cool, and more interresting than the first option.

about that I thought we could alternate matches between US and EU servers, but it won't be fair indeed (still lag can be a powerful weapon when controlled).

yes, it was a brand new download, on a perfectly virgin machine

I don't know what this glitch could be but it already happened once (new install too but still from svn/bzr)

) is to set in the console:
