First thing to try is turn off any firewalls that are running, see if it improves
also I used to notice if a virus checker is running it can cause latency issues (ping)

Re: Rubber and Clients.... why do they know
So If I understand that right the following happend (chronologically): 3) The decision is made to transmit the rubber for more accuracy of the display ??? <--- this is after I leave the scene Yep. Also, the bugs that became noticed by players once rubber was actually displayed were fixed. In short,...

Now we are getting somewhere more interesting. I loved the Dirk Gently books so much, the guy was a genius. Too bad about his untimely death.

So If I understand that right the following happend (chronologically): 1) Client calculates rubber because it can 2) We create a HUD (tank then I) that displays the rubber the client calculates 3) The decision is made to transmit the rubber for more accuracy of the display ??? <--- this is after I l...

There is no meaning of life.

Rubber and Clients.... why do they know
Z-man, What's the reason for clients knowing how much rubber is left. Is it calculated on the client as an approximation or is it sent from the server? If it's from the server would it make sense to stop sending it and possibly other stuff to improve network performance. The upshot of this would be ...

Re: HUD and Menu Revamp In the Works? Also Shaders.

Re: HUD and Menu Revamp In the Works? Also Shaders.
I think someone may have touched on this already, but I view the current default cockpit as something of the order of what you get when you sit in the drivers seat of a car. Sure, there are a lot of dials, needles, lights and things. You can drive the car with only the speedometer, or the fuel gaug...

Re: Swearing in arma
Surely something is better than nothing.... And if it's an option on the client side - similar to silence than the people swearing wouldn't even know that their swear words are not being show on my screen. I like the idea of humor conversion like Z-man suggested, this could be cycled ie one to many ...
