Re: Time based Fortress?

Thanks madmax. Back up now with the bug that caused the crash fixed.

In addition, there are now many different ways that players get killed. This will make sense if you play there.

Re: Time based Fortress?

Fixed a couple of bugs and ended up rewriting most of the script, so if it crashes, I apologise, no time to test. Bug fixes: everyone now gets respawned facing towards the centre of the grid You can rename/login/logout, the server will hold your number of lives correctly If the base is taken in the ...

Re: Time based Fortress?

One superficial issue: could the respawn time be changed to until after you've exploded; it's a lil weird otherwise. Yeah, I agree with this, maybe a second or two later. But I really need to fix an issue with how names are stored in the script first. The reason why authenticating mid round will lo...

Re: Ladle 24 Voting Discussion

A problem we have here is that the answer to some questions will depend heavily on the answers of another. eg. If it was voted upon that matches would be up to 200 points therefore best of 1 match instead of best of 3, then the limit_time argument may not be necessary as the time issue would no long...

Re: Ladle 24 Voting Discussion

what you said isn't true ;). What I said was nonsense, what you said was pure speculation. From what I can gather a lot of people are unhappy about the length of time the ladle takes each month. This only really effects those players who make the finals as they can sometimes be expected to play for...

Re: Ladle 24 Voting Discussion

LIMIT_TIME ... yes!

The Ladle is about patience and knowing when to take risks or not. Make the tournament start an hour earlier, or more! The amount of people it affects by making it earlier is far more than the amount it affects by running late.

Isn't this the reason for voting :)

Re: Time based Fortress?

maybe make holes smaller... the smallest hole (aka blast radius) default size is 2...is there any way to make it 1? which would make it better for game play It is currently 0.5. This makes getting through a randomly made hole difficult, but intentional torping still a highly effective tactic if not...

Re: Time based Fortress?

Made a few changes to the server, hopefully fixed a few bugs'n'flaws. Maybe created more, let me know. My idea is to give each player a certain amount of respawns (probably somewhere 1-3) Each player now has a maximum of three respawns for each round, effectively four lives. After that they stay dow...

Re: Time based Fortress?

The idea was to keep Fortress the same Nah, this creates a new game mode heavily based on Fortress. Did I already suggest to hand over the project to you? I think I did. I thought that's what you were getting at :D See it as a prototype, if you think it's worthwhile you can add it as you wish. &quo...

Re: Time based Fortress?

Z-Man, that sounds like fun!
Aside from small tweaks I think you've got the basic game structure spot on.
I can't see anything there that sty+ct and a neat little script can't accomplish.
I'll get right on it ;)

Re: The Best

It's like the blind leading the blind... 28.34 is the new 2.8. Real stablility in a somewhat flexible timeline. 3.1? Pah! 37.6 ftw! /me puts his sensible head on... It's 0.3.0 and 0.2.8.3_rc2... 0.2.8.3_rc2 - The second release candidate for 0.2.8.3 release. Tried and tested stable version of arma w...

Re: Tron Guy sells Tron plane

Yeah, him and a bunch of his nutter flying buddies have ropes laced with mines hanging from the back of their planes. As the planes fly more and more of this "mine rope" is released from the tail of the plane. The aim, obviously, is to avoid the others' mine ropes whist trying to tangle th...
