If there is enough interest (30-40% or more), we will run a trial week in sky with new settings.

Re: Sumo Bar Tournament Possible New Settings feedback

When talking about making wholesale changes to a game, there should always be much care in doing so. Hundreds of players have spent hundreds of hours in an attempt to learn and perfect strategies that are optimized for the current scoring system. Of the two big changes being discussed: a. Changing t...

Re: Sumo Bar Tournament Possible New Settings feedback

I like it how it is. The best players usually rise to the top which is what we want. Fiddling with the rounds seems fine if you want to make it an even number. You aren't significantly changing the sample size. I dont like the idea of playing a number of short matches instead of one long one as it m...

Re: Tourney Streaming?

Id like to see this with the live audio commentary. :) New players would be more drawn to tron and fortress after watching one.

Re: SuperLadle Discussion - cont. from time change thread

Good analysis Concord, thanks for doing this. I think it is fun to be able to talk about it as a "season" with the new bowl format. I would suggest for next season to use an elo formula or similar and give minor bonus points to Ladle winners and possibly finalists. This would solve the bye...

Re: Is college worth it?

Right, my advice was to get that specific information elsewhere. :) I hope he takes it to heart. There was no intention to offend. I just wanted to cut through and give him what I consider to be very key advice to a very important question. Of course college will increase most people's lifetime earn...

Re: Is college worth it?

Much of this advice is too general. It varies greatly depending on what you want to do. Find successful people actually working in your desired career field and ask them. Also ask them about what kind of work experience you need to be getting. Until you do this, there is an excellent chance that col...

Re: Ladle 61

My servers have been rebranded as rZ servers, as listed on the challenge board. Could someone edit the brackets to reflect this?

Re: Ladle 61

So ratchet is basically bypassing the "no new subs during the semis/final" rule? He will be able to bring anyone he wants in and have them use his "any, subs, we, ... " aliases?

This doesn't necessarily bother me. I'm just trying to understand why he is doing it.

Re: Tron activity

The biggest barrier for entry in fortress is the grind. Period. If it weren't for the grind, anyone could jump into a server and start playing fortress without the risk of messing up the team. Let's set up a map where the members spawn far apart from each other so that grinding isn't completely nece...
