Re: Ladle 119 (1st November 2020)
I've been thinking about resources. We've been building resources based on ladle iteration for a while, but a number of servers never seem to get updated. Would it not be more efficient to rename each ladle server "Ladle - (owners location)" and rename the resources to "ladle_authorit...

Re: US Election 2016
it worries me how many people I see with similar opinions when I look into it more. There's the rub - it's already extraordinarily widespread, and not only in the US. For the most part, it's quite passive. It doesn't change everyday behaviour. However, it does change people's opinions and their con...

Re: US Election 2016
Normally I might agree with you, but recent events have somewhat muddied the waters IMO. The autonomous zone in... was it Chicago(?) was somewhat unprecedented in modern times, which leads me to believe that at least part of the US would be open to armed opposition. Certainly not on the scale of a p...

Re: Player Ranking System Feasibility
If we were to approach such an idea, I might suggest that we do so completely separately from regular pickup - a so-called "ranked" pickup if you will. Assuming we score players based on their performances solely in those games, we might see some slightly different results.

Re: Getting old players back
this idea was actually floated a few weeks ago in the discord (not sure which channel), but the long and short is that privacy laws prevent people's forum email addresses from being used for this sort of thing I'm not sure that's entirely correct. This is technically a service update, hence we are ...

Getting old players back
I've been shooting off a few messages to players I can find here and there, letting them know that we're getting back into Tron and pointing them to the new discord. I've shouted a few so far, with not a lot of effect, but I thought it might be the right time to look at sending out some emails from ...

Re: Player Ranking System Feasibility
OK, I have the infra right here, and the programming ability to build the ranking system. I actually specialise in data visualisation and management, so this is right up my alley. If you like, Kronk, you come up with the formula and I can then build it in one language or another. I can do it in Mono...

Re: Player Ranking System Feasibility
I think it may be prudent to look at performance during specific events at first. I say this because it's often difficult to determine whether someone is playing seriously or not - when someone is playing just for fun, or whilst under the influence, their performance is invariably changed from the n...

Re: [ pic post ] what does your desktop look like ?
Reviving a dead thread. I'm quite taken with this KDE spin of Fedora, although it does need updating. Still moving stuff over to Linux, so it's not on my desktop yet sadly. desktop.png Incidentally, that last image I posted is still the background for my primary monitor - some... seven(?) years later

Re: Ladle 117 (6th September 2020)
...not another tournament we'll play once and forget about... I'm not sure we'd just forget about it, but perhaps it might be a good idea to put it on hold until we have a more stable and diverse player base. Maybe you should write a wiki page for it, that's what 2020 did for the Tronic <kitchen ut...

Re: Ladle 117 (6th September 2020)
I like Sine's idea, actually, but I think it might be better suited to a tournament of it's own. Perhaps it could be held on the last Sunday of every month, and we could call it something like the Whisk.
Actually, now I really like that idea.
