Re: More stats

It's easy to fix the stats issue. Tie it to player logins instead - that way, if someone is truly butthurt about their stats, they can simply logout. I'd also suggest making the stat counter optional for server owners - and add it to 2.8.3! Actually, now that I think abotu it, I don't think it would...

Re: A public letter to Z-man.

I usually consider Steam harmful to developers, but in this case (tron being a free game and all) I suspect it could be more than helpful. My only concern is that Valve might suppress it if they can't make money from it. It might be a nice idea to start submitting arma to a few different indie sites...

Re: Sound Initialisation failed.

I wonder if Arma uses libSDL? I think it does, IIRC. Perhaps this might be of use to you: https://github.com/FrozenSand/UrbanTerror4/issues/295

A different game, but conceivably a similar problem.

Re: Mac support for Catalina

Briefly looked into this. I can't do much since virtualisation is borked on my machine until I figure out how to make it work properly in Fedora. According to this site , Catalina removes some of the existing /usr/include structure which GCC expects, and that it is necessary to create a few symbolic...

Brief note

I know I promised a quick and dirty site for the last ladle, and in truth I was working on it. A few personal issues cropped up, and I set myself a goal of completing it by a given day, not realising I was a week late. Anyway, I hope I'm not so important that there was too much impact on the Ladle, ...

Re: Broken links, broken website

My initial thoughts on a CMS design were pretty simple too. A light DB solution would house users and available content references, the former being made up of moderators and users. The latter would simply be an address to wherever the content is hosted, be it in-house, on Sourceforge, even Pastebin...

Not really, a significant number of edit actions are resulting in exceptions with the changes not being saved.

Re: Broken links, broken website

Your answer to a Wordpress suggestion is .NET? You know this isn't a Microsoft shop, right? Heh. I just thought of what I could build with existing licenses. My public-facing webservers for the handful of social enterprises I support all run on .NET infra, thanks to some deals I got from my rep. It...

Re: Broken links, broken website

From the perspective of someone who has to maintain the work of others as part of their business, please don't use Wordpress as a solution. There's far too many poorly built bits and pieces, themes break constantly with WP updates, the code maintenance side of things is a shitshow, and there's a who...

Re: Final Ladle (RIP Tron)

This weekend. I've been somewhat busy this week with a migration planning project, so some things haven't been done as planned. That should be rectified this weekend, and I hope to have the site up by end of Sunday. Just to note: This isn't a wiki, I'm just writing a quick and dirty web forms applic...

Re: Final Ladle (RIP Tron)

Update re: a brackets/signup page and my infrastructure: The signup sheet will be up this week. I don't have any subdomains left on VixDev, so it's going to have to be an iframe somewhere on the root domain. Because of that I'm also going to be hosting at home. I'll keep an eye on the uptime, but PM...

Re: Sponsership

I tried to buy the CT domain back on behalf of them, but it's registered with some weird Chinese registry that won't allow international ownership. That, and their site is next to impossible to make sense of.

Re: Final Ladle (RIP Tron)

At some point this week, I'll make a rendition of the tournament page on my site so that we have a record of what happened. I'll try get the teams organised into slots too. Once that's sorted you should all be able to register your teams there, as well as anyone who wishes to register as a server ow...
