Smurfing
Deso and I were having a conversation, and it turns out we never actually made smurfing a hard and fast no-no. Deso suggested a vote, and I agree. I'll leave this up for, say, a week?

Re: Still alive
We're still here! We've moved the IRC over to Discord, and that's where most of the casual conversation takes place now. We also have pickups too. Ladle is still going strong, and Sylla is doing commentary on them, and the game is now on Steam! Anyway, wb, here's the discord invite: https://discord....

Re: macOS WIP
Bear in mind, the compat layer for the M1 based macs is flaky at best. I wouldn't even bother trying to build for it right now, especially since their market share will be minimal for some time yet.

Re: Fortress pickup: Points advantage
I think this should be in servers rather than competitions. Also there should be an option for keep things as they are surely? This isn't a deciding vote or anything, this is more a canvassing prompt to get an idea for what people feel is appropriate for a points advantage cutoff. It's not a vote o...

Fortress pickup: Points advantage
We've chatted about implementing an advantage limit for a couple of days, but I think we should engage on what would be a proper advantage win. Please take a brief moment to add your voice to the poll.

Re: Discord Account Disabled...
There is a subreddit for discord in which discord staff are present, although the quality of their responses may be... not particuarly high. I'd suggest making a post there, and linking it here so some of us can back you up. That might at least generate more than a canned response. I might also emai...

Re: 2020's Arma
I don't think any of my generation is going to be the target market. I'm pushing 30. Neither do I think it's yours, Z-Man. I think the most appropriate target market is the early 20-somethings. The first part, though, is disconnecting the idea of money with the idea of gain (or, in this case, credit...

Re: working on server AI's have an issue
No reason why it wouldn't, afaik. You might need to edit the contents of aiplayers.cfg instead, though - perhaps cycling through iterations of the file. I don't have the source in front of me at the moment, though, so I can't be certain that this file isn't loaded on server startup rather than on ro...

Re: https://urbit.org/
I've read through this entire website and I still don't understand what Urbit is trying to be. Some sort of weird meshnet? I can't understand how anyone is supposed to be able to access it. This: First, scarcity: there are only 232 (~4B) Urbit IDs, so they cost something. Since they cost something, ...

Re: Contrast and Color Accessibility
Colour blindness and accessibility variations therein are incredibly difficult to build for, given the sheer variety of needs. I ran into this hurdle with a client a couple years ago, and I ended up building a little tool with which the user could set their own preferences - being colour profile, fo...

Re: Running a dedicated server in docker
I can't really comment on the Mailcow implementation personally, all I know is that it works across multiple volumes and appears to be relatively painless. Not really my area of expertise (did I mention I hate Docker?). As for screen sessions, this is my preferred approach too. I currently use Nelg'...

Re: Running a dedicated server in docker
I wonder, is it worth pinging the developers behind Mailcow and asking their opinions on config persistence? They have a package designed to run a mail server over a few docker containers. I use it to host our mail for the time being.

Re: 2020's Arma
Now there's a name I haven't seen in a while. Ladle is round robin, swiss-style. It works, sort of, but it does tend to result in longer tournaments. I think we've long surpassed the window for throwing Tron at schools, the original idea was to get schools more focused on IT no? They now teach progr...

Re: MicroFort
Is there a part of the config missing? I just popped in there and there were no zones, no teams, etc. I opened a second client and forced multiplayer mode to be sure, same thing.
