There once was a tron player that liked a lady, but she had cheese in her nose, which surprise surprise smelled like cheese in dead monkeys. But actually the next three weeks {consisted of/was really} moldy bread. "Too bad," LiMette said. "I really need to eat cheese because it gives me the creeps."...

I think I need to rephrase? :) I don't want a server to force my client to use whatever models and textures the server has defined. I don't want to be blocked from connecting to a server if I am not using the server's defined models and textures. I want the client to default to using the default mod...

Maybe some users WANT user specified textures? Which requires the server they play on to allow it, in which case the server should point to the central repo somewhere. Are you saying that a user would not be able to use their own models and textures if a server does not allow it? I don't think a se...

I took a stab at updating the VisualC++ project files and getting the particle library to compile under Windows. 1. Added ../armagetronad/src/thirdparty/particles to the include paths in the dsp files. 2. Added new folders in the projects for the files (ThirdParty/Particles/). I created cpp and h su...

Preference menu item to turn off Explosions

I added a Preferences menu item to turn off the animated explosions. I think Luci requested it during a game last week. The Deutsch translations need to be updated for it (pref_explosion_text and pref_explosion_help).

and now back to "Problems compiling in Windows #2"... Is it just the Windows build not compiling with the latest CVS? nServerInfo.cpp C:\Projects\ArmagetronCVS\armagetronad\src\network\nServerInfo.cpp(2393) : error C2039: 'reset' : is not a member of 'auto_ptr<class nAddress>' Error executing cl.exe.

Since we are adding more Windows compilers should we move the installation specific files out of the armagetronad_build_visualc module and put them into armagetronad_build/windows? This would include Armagetron Forums.url, armagetronad.nsi, admagetronad.nsi.m4, armagetronad_dedicated.nsi, armagetron...

I wrote a simple console app to help with this. The concept is similar to using DATE to generate a call to a batch file. IF EXIST %AA_DIR%\version.h GOTO SKIP_VERSION_H BATHELP.EXE setvar.bat -q +f"%AA_DIR%\major_version." +t. +f"%AA_DIR%\minor_version" +q > result.bat ECHO set AA_VERSION=%%1> setva...
