Re: 64 Player 1v1 Sumo Tournament (Cancelled)

Nice, along with sine's servers, I think CT can also make some servers available for this tourney? :)

Btw rits, I don't think many people appreciate you hosting tournaments like this and then canceling them on the last minute, why not bother to make it work?

Re: America VS Europe: Nominations are open!

4th sunday of June good then?

@ Gonz: That would exclude people who can't or don't want to play from voting. Don't think it's necessary

Re: America VS Europe: Nominations are open!

Maybe we should open a new voting thread with the rules and everything. Also get people to say they have voted in that thread so that we can see how many people have voted, and to check if all votes are legitimate Edit: but all this should happen after the deadline of signing up, which we haven't de...

Re: America VS Europe: Nominations are open!

Okay, let's decide on a date, use the 3-2-1 voting system (ties less likely, better representation of votes), and get this going

We also need more players to sign up, especially EU

Re: America VS Europe: Nominations are open!

I think the outcome of the second method represents the thoughts of voters better than the first. For example, say my first choice for Europe's center is Player A, my second choice Player B, and my third choice Player C. I can voice my opinion well through the second method. When we use the first me...

Re: America VS Europe: Nominations are open!

Looks pretty good, sine, but that method doesn't take the '3-2-1' scoring system into account, right? What about doing it like this: Sample ballot CENTER 1: Choose from: [Player 1, Player 2, Player3, ..., Player 15] 2: Choose from: [Player 1, Player 2, Player3, ..., Player 15] 3: Choose from: [Playe...

Re: America VS Europe: Nominations are open!

We still have to make a decision as to whether or not the voting process will be anonymous. If we decide to make it anonymous, how would we check who casts a vote without seeing its content? It only makes sense for people to vote on players from their own region, so we still need to check who is all...

Re: America VS Europe: Nominations are open!

That makes sense. Then I guess there are two options. We either don't take positions into account at all in the vote, or we allow people to vote for the same player on two positions (instead of just one). The good thing about the first option is that the 6 'best' fort players of both regions are cho...

Re: America VS Europe: All-Stars 2014

I think it's better to leave the positions out of the sign-up. If people only vote for players on a specific position, your only chance to play is to win in that category, whereas if the positions aren't mentioned, players have the chance to compete in multiple categories. And it's better to play on...

Re: America VS Europe: All-Stars 2014

I made a quick wiki so people can sign up while this discussion takes place: http://wiki.armagetronad.org/index.php/AVE2014 Liz if you could add this to the first post and let the title say sign-ups are open Edit: lol I'm bad at this, can someone fix it so that the names appear under each other? Als...

Re: America VS Europe: All-Stars 2014

Then I suggest people vote by stating their top 3 for the four categories of positions (center, attack, sweep, defense). It's probably most logical to allocate three points to the first choices, two to the second, and one to the third. After the vote is closed we can see which players have the most ...

Re: America VS Europe: All-Stars 2014

So do people vote for players on a specific position, or do they just vote for 6 players and those 6 will decide the positions themselves?
