Re: 0.2.9.0 release process: 0.2.9.0_rc_z2093 available

1) In src/tron/gArmagetron.cpp I commented out " clearenv() ". That one should also be in legacy_0.2.8. I'll find some other way to modify the environment. The other compilation problem is now this , the crash here . Nothing else pressing to do right now, so I should be able to dig into them soonish.

Re: 0.2.9.0 release process: 0.2.9.0_rc_z2093 available

0.2.9.0_rc_z2093 is available. Dominant change are fixes that spun off from a crash on OpenBSD aP|Nelg reported, which made me compile the game with clang for the first time (dlh did it before), which lead to warnings, at least one causing a real crash (with clang, on Linux too), others potential f...

Re: key rate on Linux

It's not in the menus, you have to use the console. Press ~ (the key below ESC) during a game, that should bring up the "Con:" prompt. Enter cycle_delay 0.0000001 there. If you want to make that setting permanent for local and LAN games you host, you can do so in a user configuration file. At your r...

Re: key rate on Linux

The game also has a configurable minimal delay between turns (setting CYCLE_DELAY), defaulting to 0.1 seconds. Even if you would press a single key twice faster than that, your cycle would not turn as fast. The picture in the documentation was taken on a server with a lowered minimal turn delay.

Re: 0.2.9.0 release process: 0.2.9_beta_z2049 available

And we're in the Release Candidate phase, nothing serious reported for a week. Of course, as soon as the first build was done, three things went wrong in quick succession: The Windows build, at least when running windowed, would crash when you alt-tab away. That only happened with directx usage enab...

Re: Weekly builds

The new ppa from the last post is gone again. The process there was inferior in every way to the GitLab CI process now feeding the regular PPA. https://gitlab.com/armagetronad/ubuntu-packaging is also to be considered dead, I folded the relevant bits into the main source (under docker/build/context/...

Re: Oooh, this is even neater: 0install

Another move you need to adapt to: http://0install.armagetronad.org/ -> https://0install.armagetronad.org/ We now support and enforce https. So a possible future secret thought police can still find out what game you were downloading, but not which version! I bet that is a relief to you all. Also, W...

Re: New Title Screen!? and other cool stuff

You're basically pointing out all the things I didn't really like. I removed the Red & Yelo cycles and replaced it with a better interaction that includes three cycles! One of them is purple. Who doesn't love purple? Heh, that's an improvement, too, and a big one, but I was referring to the very ve...
