Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

I think you're the one who needs to come off your high horse Word; Always telling people how they ought to play fortress and playing the victim. Why don't you take your own advice. I'm done arguing w/ you because it's like talking to a brick wall and this topic is going nowhere. Jip put these settin...

Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

Are you stupid or what? If a pair of sweepers kills 3 attackers leaving the other teams def alone, do they not deserve to be able to go over there, shrink and gank? This has nothing to do with holing...

Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

Yes exactly, you are saying that more skill is required. In a 1v1 tournament, this would indeed be the case. Less skill is required, and the teams that play together the best are the ones that win. No. I am saying the two types of skill are not the same, not that one is more credible than the other...

Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

That's ridiculous. Being a skilled player and a skilled team don't depend on the same things. If you have 2 skilled players on a team who only attack and pay no mind to their other players, their team will lose. You must play as a team in fortress, team work and team oriented strategies have made th...

Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

A step defence does not defend against holes, it defends against cuts. They have been used long before holing was a widely used tactic. Sweep/Speedboxes have also been used long before but have recently became popular, whereas before they were rather 'abstract' tactics. Also, you miss my point Word;...

Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

Holing is not a problem, it's a tactic and a product of settings being changed. If you change the settings in any way the tactics will change, not always going to like the outcome of those changes but it happens. I can't see how changing the settings to making the zone 2 vs 1 unconquerable is going ...

Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

Meh, you are acting like there are only a limited amount of strategies in fort and that they've all already been thought of. Seems to me like a lazy way out of trying hard to beat these things and bring more strats to the table yourself. Pretty sure this can be done without changing settings... The ...

Re: Where is the Ladle (and Fortress) heading in the future?

Um, am I missing something here? Fortress is, before anything else, a team game. How would changing the settings to make it more focussed on individual skill improve the game mode and what it's about? You're talking about change, but change for the better or for the worst? This isn't exactly the fir...

Re: Silent Rule on pickup server

Agreed. I was there the match Jip enabled it and within that match even there was a significant change in game play... That was the strongest reason we had to keep it. Finally pickup became what we had been trying to make it since day one. I don't understand why people can't come to terms with this,...

Re: Silent Rule on pickup server

If you can't follow rules then that's up to you. I do have the right to say what I want just as you do. If you're getting butthurt over what I said that's up to you but I didn't mention any names, so I suggest you sit back down. Pickup didn't exist once, it doesn't need to exist, so don't act like I...

Re: Silent Rule on pickup server

For the record, the admins do what we feel is in the best interest of pickup, not of social interaction. You can all sit here and complain as much as you freaking please, but the bottom line is the rules we had in place about keeping chat to a minimum were ignored; ~ Please keep silent during picks....
