Re: Discussion about ladle 107

People picking teams is a great idea in my opinion. You just need to think of a way it could be done. 1. You need all team captains in one server at some time to make them choose one after another so they see who is left to go with 2. You need to do it early enough to communicate it with the people...

Re: Status update

if we could afford a pet deposit and the ongoing health care costs, we'd definitely get a cat or something. If you could do some research and give an idea of how much that would cost, I'd be willing to at least chip in a little. I'm sure some other kind souls could spare a few bucks towards the pot...

Re: ~Misc Stuff~ Decision Overturn

1) Reversing the unnecessary ban of Durf 2) Start drafting a set of rules to prevent things of similar like and magnitude to ever happen 3) Push for transparency between the devs and the player community 1) Sure, maybe it was unnecessary. He was being quite annoying, though, and it was the easiest ...

Re: Ladle 105

You essentially described FFA with a bot choosing teams instead of captains You still have that IRC Bot code on Github, right? Maybe you would be interested in helping to organize a new era in Ladle? I do: https://github.com/JoshuaGranger/FFABot I know there are a few people around that know C# as ...

Re: Ladle 105

Sine, shall we make a Sparks open team on the wiki?... Done. Like I mentioned in my tl:dr post above, we should seriously think about a new way to organize all the free agents on Ladle day to keep events fun and on-time. CTF Brawl had that problem. There were 2-3 regular teams and 2-3 teams of free...

Re: Help requested! Will someone read my research proposal?

Just throwing it out there: a lot more people view your thread than you think. Also, a lot less people are willing to ask you to send them a copy. If you post the link/zip file in some way that the reader can easily access your document to see if they can help, you are much more likely to get some m...

Re: Arma Textures: Trail Decal Poll

I'm sure you've gotten what you were looking for out of this thread, but: I have hardly ever even noticed the lightning bolts. I never really look at the trails that closely. The only time it throws me off is when they are weird and transparent (like Origins). I haven't actually experimented with ot...

Re: Ladle 103

who was the witness of the bracket randomization? Jesus. RNGesus to be precise. World of Tanks? Or does every game call it that? :P There are only a handful people even playing this event. Quoted just to say that a handful is only five, in which case that wouldn't be much of a ladle :P (I know you'...

Re: Descent Prequel

I've never played the original but the game looks neat. The change in graphics quality was amusing to see. Man, we take a lot of things for granted. I think I'm more impressed by the graphics improvement than the concept of the game. It looks like it would be fun to play for short periods of time, b...

Re: Ladle 103

The problem with ladle's double elimination system is, as you say, you can lose and still come back with no problems. A pretty decent fix to this IMO is forcing the finalist from losing bracket to win 2 matches, while team from winning bracket only has to win 1. A little reward for being consistent...

Haha. Hey, I don't disagree, CoD can be retarded. But that video was just painful. I suppose it's as you say, perhaps you didn't notice it originally. It was hard to watch for me, though :P

Re: Destiny

I hate games where you can kill people without the reticle being over their body.... So every call of duty ever? That being said, I'll be the first to admit and agree that there's quite a lot of lag and other nonsensical bullshit that happens throughout your average game of Destiny. This video bein...

Re: US Election 2016

There's also the current uproar about the Apple encryption case. I'm sure you're all aware of that. Virtually all of the candidates have in some way stated that they think Apple should fold to the government and give the FBI a backdoor into iOS. And, as Tim Cook has pointed out, that's impossible.
