OK, I've threw a rewrite into my .htaccess file for my stats site. You can now use armagetron.imagenook.com/stats/YOURNAMEHERE.png as an image url. Just like this: armagetron.imagenook.com/stats/ishAdmin.png http://armagetron.imagenook.com/stats/ishAdmin.png armagetron.imagenook.com/stats/Tank%20Pro...

experimenting http://armagetron.imagenook.com/stats.phppnemostultaeimage.png http://armagetron.imagenook.com/stats.php.png ok, it seems the problem is with the characters. it doesn't like ? or = or &. if I don't have anyone one of those in there, it processes the bb code. You get a broken image of c...

How about this. Since the problem is obviously in the BB code processing, can you enable html for signatures? I'm all for fooling the BB processing code, but I have no idea what it doesn't like. Is it the "?" in the url, or some other characters? Does it check the response header? What exactly? I to...

This is more than flicker, or dropped frames. When I say choppy, I mean the image is really updating at between 2 and 5 fps, despite it's reporting 30+ fps. As the fps drops, the choppiness follows. Meaning if I dropped to less than 20 fps, the glance back updates would slow to as low as 1 fps. I've...

My own observations have been that I get double the fps on linux. But I will also get choppy animation on linux sometimes, even with reasonable fps. This happens mostly when I glance right, left, or back. When I'm looking straight ahead again, it smooths out. This is on an older computer. 500 mhz ce...

I was playing a server recently (don't remember which one, it could have been a cvs server), and I accelerated by grinding the outer wall. I hadn't done anything fancy, but I had a decently tight grind. There was a player about 4 or 5 grids away that I ended up passing because of this, as he was dec...

e = 2.71828182845904523536028747135266249775724709369995, which is just about the cvs version number. I looked forward to experimenting with cycle_rubber_speed. The whole concept of what rubber actually is gets a lot of discussion. Having more variables only makes it more complicated for players to ...

So why not limit the fps to 60 for everybody.

actually, that's something I'd like to see 'fixed' or equalized or something. If we removed the advantage the higher frame rate gives, it would flatten the playing field. Could it be limited to an effective 60 fps somehow? (I don't even get that, but 60 fps seems a reasonable number)
