Re: Team Sumo Tournament

I would like to remind everyone not to use #armagetron.pickup for tournament chat, as players interested in the tournament may simply not be present in the pickup channel(Not interested in pickups, don't want to be pinged by people looking for players, etc). Use #armagetron.tourneys or #armagetron i...

OpenID gateway for GIDs

http://auth.hashpickup.net/ TL;DR for players: Don't type your Global ID password on any website. TL;DR for webadmins: If you want to authenticate users using their GID, use this. Unlike all other solutions I have seen so far, this way of authenticating players does not involve having players type o...

Re: Team Sumo Tournament

Can we please all calm down? (Also, this is not an image board.) A. Everyone appreciates your effort in pushing a tournament out of development hell. Thank you, and for my part in it, sorry. B. It would help get everyone focused if you could decide on and explain the format of the tournament you are...

 Sounds like someone needs a history lesson. TST predates armathentication.
Nope, it actually used AUTHORITY_LEVEL tst.armagetron.co.uk/staff 1, but did not require player authentication except in the case of disputes.

These are unofficial in the aspect that they do not set the TST people as admins. The game settings are complete however.

Let's make the official resource repository useful again

Judging by how everyone and their mother is putting up their own resource repository rather than using the official repository, it is way overdue to ask ourselves why is no one uploading their map files etc to the official repository. Please help me in answering this question, so that we can improve...

Re: WST 13

Here are the settings I had to fix: TALK_TO_MASTER 1 CYCLE_SPEED 30 DO_WARMUP 3 WARMUP_MIN_PLAYERS 6 WARMUP_MIN_READY_FRAC 1 WARMUP_RESPAWN_TIME -1 ACCESS_LEVEL ALL_READY 7 Until they get included in the main config, you can get those like such: RINCLUDE epsy/sumo/wst_0.4_fix.aacfg.cfg(http://resour...

Re: name color code guesses

I'm not sure what your question is.

If you want your nickname in-game to be colored like this, then put '>>0x00ff00Laggy in your player settings.

Debian stable, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Fedora 18 and Arch Linux all have 0.2.8.3.2, the latest stable version. What distribution are you using?

Re: Multithreading - Script Improvement (ie. Happy Fun Time)

And if it does do something like the above, threading should give better precision. It should also provide you with a faster script. It does something like the above, is more accurate than you think, while threading is not that fast at all. All of which are acceptably accurate/fast enough anyway wh...

Re: Multithreading - Script Improvement (ie. Happy Fun Time)

Here's an implementation of your script using Twisted, with no threading involved. I basically am telling the framework to do the waiting for me, while it can still do whatever in the meantime, like read stdin or spam other users. You might want to clamp your parameters though. from twisted.internet...

Re: Multithreading - Script Improvement (ie. Happy Fun Time)

You don't need threading to do a sleep. Check out asynchronous programming and event loops. I don't really know the Java ecosystem, but Twisted is an example of such a framework for Python.
