Re: NixOS: The last word in Armagetron hosting
I love the idea NixOS. I also hate the idea. If you limit yourself solely to single-file config like that, you're somewhat locked-in to a given ecosystem. That's not really linux - but at the same time, there are some very useful fundamentals here. Package managers could use stateful restore functio...

We're still around! The greater community is more active over on the discord - much to my chagrin and that of others, but it serves a purpose. Come see us:

Re: Saying Hi, but didn't want to bump.
Welcome back! We still have a thriving community, in fact today we have six teams for ladle. We do the vast majority of day-to-day stuff on Discord though - such as pickup, organising other tournaments, etcetera. I have an IRC bridge on the to-do list but it's not the highest priority at the moment,...

Re: Strange quest; Keyboard cameras
You can get PS/2 to USB adapters. I had one. They are simple and work perfectly. I've never had much luck getting them to work properly past usb 1.1 (or is it 1.3?). I'm not even sure my current machine has anything below 2.0. I mucked around with it a few years ago, and I think I remember somethin...

Re: Strange quest; Keyboard cameras
I'm terribly sorry about the vapour! I didn't even consider it until after I'd exported the cut. As for the match, this was a game of TST, from start to finish. TST, played from position 2, is often lengthy periods of minimal presses, interspersed with brief periods of hectic activity. TST from posi...

Re: Strange quest; Keyboard cameras
No need, I have my own webserver. Here is the video in 720p30, x265. If you want the original x264x60, let me know - but it is a sizeable 1.2gb.
https://vixen.international/assets/pub/Sequence1-1.m4v
Note: It's x265, so it probably won't play in your browser. Right-click on the media and save it.

Done, split into two parts for some reason. Will stitch and render... probably tomorrow.

Re: BitCoins!
I assume that means it was either a direct physical access or over some management console, not a remote exploit... More likely the provider cheaped out on IPMI security, and allowed their IPMI host to be compromised. I've seen that before, more times than I care to admit. A hosting provider can ha...

Re: BitCoins!
Is that all he had? I'm somewhat surprised he wasn't holding on to a lot more. Luke posted a bit more about it that didn't seem to make it into the article, seems he's pointing a finger or two at ColoCrossing for... not investigating a breach on the 17th November? Whole thing seems a bit convoluted,...

Re: I'm vaccinated!
I spent a couple years down the bottle myself. These days I still have the occasional beer or three, but I don't neck bottles of scotch like I used to. Or, at least, I very rarely do, and it's usually less over a longer period. You can do it! Incidentally, up until recently I used an elderly Inspiro...

I've been caught up by the CBAT craze and I think I'm slowly going insane, because I actually quite like the track.

Re: macOS WIP
is a way to control vsync behavior in some control panel of the OS, or an environment variable. It could be that such a thing does not exist You would be correct. Apple doesn't include a functional toggle for vsync, although on older (being 10:10 and older, and xcode 6 or older) machines Quartz deb...

Oh, I think I might have stumbled upon something there. You might have seen it already, but if not I put it up as an issue on the gitlab - https://gitlab.com/armagetronad/armagetronad/-/issues/126 There's also https://discord.com/channels/209759416604426242/720413044466909224/996092720718295111 whic...
