Re: On Steam

I don't mean to necro old posts, but I don't like creating duplicate posts. I am still surprised no one has greenlight this on Steam. First Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, then Warsow/Warfork, then Soldat, then CS2D, then many other indie/small games that were originally born before Steam,... eventua...

To add to Monkey's response a little. The Grid Discord Channel - https://discord.gg/dcpaauj (the most popular I believe, and the one I pay attention to) Armagetron Noobs Discord Channel - https://discord.gg/SF7eHmq Lightron Discord Channel - https://discord.com/invite/rCeuXhMW (this is my own, which...

Re: noob needed help, docs fixed it...

While it's not the current stable release, 0.4 has a tutorial that will help familiarize you with the controls. There's also pop-up text that will help remind you of keybinds.

Re: Look who decided to come crawling home

I still have it, but there were some database issues with it that caused it to crash, and continue to crash within a day of fixing it, and K-Yo let the domain name expire :( If you have any interest, I could take a look at the site and database to see if I can see or fix what's going on. If interes...

Re: html css help with repeating image please

I think once you get used to it, CSS won't be so bad. It just tends to get bo...

Re: html css help with repeating image please

Gonna update my example here to use the new filenames for your images in case you try it. <div style="overflow: hidden; white-space: nowrap;"> <img style="float: left;" src="http://lovebug.ml/images/logo-light-cycle-red-50.png" /> <img style="width: 100%; height: 5...

Re: html css help with repeating image please

I went to your site to check out your answer, and there's two issues I have with it, though you may not care. 1. Your elements don't actually line up where they should. The tail is overlaying the bike, then you compensate for that with z-index. While that works, it's just a little messy. 2. The bigg...

Re: Running a dedicated server in docker

Try using a volume. sudo docker run --rm -it -v /data/docker/armagetronad/tmp/server:/home/armagetronad test-armagetronad When I view the home directory, the contents are not root. bash-5.0# cd /home/armagetronad/ bash-5.0# ls -al total 16 drwxr-xr-x 3 armagetr armagetr 4096 Jan 12 03:51 . drwxr-xr-...

Re: Running a dedicated server in docker

So, I'll start by saying I haven't actually tested the image you're using as I've built my own for sty+ct and sty+ct+ap. What I do is have everything the server needs go to a single directory, then do a bind mounted volume, which for me looks something like this in the container: /home/tron/armagetr...

Re: New Title Screen!? and other cool stuff

A friend owe me money so I'm tempted to max out a machine. I won't tell you not to, but I wouldn't. You can easily spend like $1200 on a 2080 TI alone, but do you really play games demanding enough to utilize it? Hell, you could look into SLI and double that cost on GPU alone. I would recommend loo...

Re: New Title Screen!? and other cool stuff

I think I can do the video capture, I just ran a test with SimpleScreenRecorder. Heh, before you do any work, we should check whether I can play back your debug recordings, that's no given :) Can you post a really long one? And before that, check whether you can reach 60 FPS, whatever it takes (yes...

Now if I can just figure out how to customize the wall textures. 8) Here we go: http://wiki.armagetronad.org/index.php/Customizing_the_game#Installing_a_different_default_texture Just be aware that you will only see the texture changes on the client y...

Re: And now we have git.

(though there might be just a docker based system you can slap onto any old server, haven't checked). That's always my assumption. (: https://hub.docker.com/r/crashvb/reprepro/ I see no certified images for this, so if that's a bother, we'd have to just make one, but shouldn't be too difficult. I d...

Re: And now we have git.

Does anyone have objections against declaring our GIT branches now the one true source? An issue has cropped up, that's why I'm asking. I think this should have happened a long time ago. Maybe continue uploading releases for a while, but GIT is the way to go. Of course, I'm not a dev here, but I ha...

Re: How can we help people to stay indoors during the corona crisis by playing more arma?

Invite people to play that are bored at home with nothing to do and try to get them hooked. I probably also wouldn't try to have some sort of tagline relating growth of the game with COVID-19. Gonna be easy to make such a small community look bad.
