I also fall into the anti-double-grind camp, essentially for the resons stated above - you have to accomodate the double grinder, who may or may not be successful, but ultimately his motivation is the glory of using that extra speed to dominate the game. The rest of the team are forced to compensate...

I don't see why giving the attacker a massive advantage is such a bad thing. Without the winzone, the advantages go all to the defender. Seems obvious to me. Putting technical difficulties aside for a moment, consider the following. After the preset time, the zones turn into killzones. The player w...

but well timed, the keeper has no chance. I can see the benefits of a tie breaker in these situations, but can't help feeling that the attacker has a massive advantage, when it is probably the defenders fault the stalemate was reached. How about if when the timer starts the winzone, instead of a win...

I dunno about holes myself. My personal view is that 2 attackers working from outside can more reliably win by squeezing the goalie to death than by sacrificing one and the other jumping into a lottery. Having said that, if a teammate accidentally crashes, it is a shame to waste a good hole. And if ...

This looks to me like somebody has sent a bunch of fake ICMP packets on different protocols to guage the response of the receiving machine. Possibly this was a preliminary sweep in the build up to a full blown attack, but I think unlikely to be an attack in itself. Quite possibly the sweep was acros...

dedicated server no support for British English?
I would like to try messing about with some of the new game formats, and downloaded the 0.2.8.0_rc2 dedicated server, but it stalls on startup eith the message Internal Error:Internal error in static tLanguage* tLanguage::FindStrict(const tString&) in ../../builds/b_0.2.8.0_rc2/RC1/armagetronad-...

I have noticed similar I am sure. I have been hanging around the midfield while a couple of teamies attack the opponents goal, and can clearly see our goalie circling, and no enemy attack. suddenl;y the other team wins. I have seen this 2-3 times, and when I expressed alarm, as 2020 says, nobody els...

the schooling thing (in my vision) is not so formal as joda and possibly luci too imagine. A seperate server (as 2020 envisages) is a good idea, but different entirely to mine. I see it this way. Joda fancies a game of fortress, but is too late and it is full. He gets shunted off to the creche to wa...

personally, I think there is already too much elitism on some servers without encouraging it! also, what if the main server is empty, and a noob joins. later the server is full, and a top player (me for instance ;)) comes to the creche? would the poor noob get relegated? I dont like this idea person...
