Re: resource.armagetronad.net is down
Can't say I'm surprised, the main resource repo was apparently on Lightfoot, which I recently shutdown due to customers' non-payment. I've uploaded the final state from my backup to http://luke.dashjr.org/tmp/code/aaresources-20141106.txz dlh knows how to reach me if any of the old scripts/etc are n...

Nothing heavy, an old dual-P4 server with 1 GB RAM.delinquent wrote:What sort of equipment are these servers running on?
It's really the internet connection that makes it good.

Lightfoot Hosting; terminated freeloaders, maybe shutdown
I've terminated service on multiple servers who were using me for hosting and haven't paid their bills in over a year. If nobody cares enough to keep their servers, I'll probably just shutdown Lightfoot Hosting entirely in the coming month to eliminate some unnecessary recurring costs for the server...

IPv6 has been working fine for years. You're not using it yet?

Re: New build system and a few improvements
Like luke-jr and epsy suggested though, I think cmake would be a better way to go than a single make file. Just to be clear, while I don't object to cmake, autotools seems to be much more mature in general, especially for things like cross-compiling (though epsy's cmake apparently handles that bett...

Re: AABeta Mac Releases
I no longer have access to the beta site, so I can't upload builds. As far as I know, the beta site is in a constant state of "broken-and-nobody-can-change-anything" since it was moved to Dreamhost. Is Tank done with his studies enough to get things fixed up yet? Regarding XCode, people s...

Re: New build system and a few improvements
No offense, but this looks far worse than what it was before... and epsy has had a cmake branch for a while.
Also, Armagetron development is done in Bazaar, not Git. You should probably learn to use it.

I don't see why not, unless you mean support for your own customers (that wouldn't count IMO).AI-team wrote:Is "Helping people with their problems" also a valid way of supporting the game?

Re: Server Hoster's List
Invests in Armagetron itself. For example, in my case, I wrote map support and a lot of other game code. Someone who hosts, but doesn't program, could possibly contribute in other ways.scene wrote:what do you mean by "supports the game"?Luke-Jr wrote:I reorganized it a bit to make it easier to compare.

This is by design. Resources are supposed to never change. Someone (maybe me?) wrote a draft for a "LATEST" version redirector on Launchpad a while back, but I don't think it is usable...

Why is this even based on 0.2.8? Merge to trunk seems obvious.
Merge to 0.2.8? Only if we're going to be "backporting" features... IMO

Good luck, I don't think any developers use Windows.
