one thing that has to been mentioned here about .NET is it's fantastic so-called "interop" APIs which means, it's abilities to link into native libraries so easily, you just have to declare or "dllimport" the dll functions and you are set up to use them. The last time I looked in...

I know it's bad practice. But as I said, it's non critical bad practice. But how many users are out there who use this practice on critical accounts? Developers should always protect their uninformed or careless users.

Ok, I apologize for being so upset. I am glad to know it's not in the database. I hope they use some irreversible hash for it - it's hard to be trustful after seeing my password in a mail... and it's just plain stupid - who would ever forget that password after typing it twice in the registration fo...
