Re: Ladle 46

I vote that we take away all of SP's ladle titles...They're ruining the game.

Re: Ladle 40

I still think a cool thing to try out is increasing the zone size by 1.5 -> 2 (somewhere in between). The defender can't wrap his entire tail around the zone, thus allowing ganking which would be more strenuous for sweepers and add more strategies.

That was just K-Yo being confused about/experimenting with access levels, I think: [14] [email protected]/senior has been promoted to "Team Member" by order of [email protected]. Re: Ladle 40

Gz. CT. I didn't watch you guys play at all, but I'm not surprised you won. I would rate you guys the #1 team in fortress right now. Gz to SP too in our match. Your guys' holing technique is near flawless, and ruins us every time. lol that's funny cuz I think our holing sucks balls and hurts us mor...

Re: Ladle 38+: Aliases (and a bit Seeding and Team Changes)

It would be nice if PsYkO and Olive's respective last posts were ignored. Or we can lock this. PS: And olive, just like a lot of other people, didn't receive a warning from this discussion. Only two warnings were handed out. Yet if you want to do any type of research, 100% of his posts (within the ...

Re: Ladle 38+: Aliases (and a bit Seeding and Team Changes)

Ok Ok, I have a different idea. While we are waiting for a @ladle framework to be in place, can we try to define what it means for a player to use their "common name"? If we can define it, maybe we can vote on a rule that prompts players to use it instead of an alias? How about using gridstats.com ...

Re: Ladle 38+: Aliases (and a bit Seeding and Team Changes)

Personally I like to see the names of who I am playing against, especially for something like ladle. And it's not really to adjust my play style; I'd play the same way as I usually do, but having the random names everywhere makes the whole match seem like a joke to me. This ofc is a personal prefer...

Re: Ladle 37 Voting Thread: CLOSED

I agree with sine.wav. If you aren't prepared for a player's ability, then how can you blame that on the other person? That's your fault for not being observant enough of the players style. We've all played enough with each other to notice who a person is just by the way they're playing. I have any...

Re: Ladle 38+: Aliases (and a bit Seeding and Team Changes)

No one will change their opinion unless they are in a tournament and they realize they die because they misjudged the other player. :| WTF. Now you just ruined any argument proving aliases are bad by putting the responsibility on the individual player and their inability to keep their guard up. The...

Re: Ladle 38+: Aliases (and a bit Seeding and Team Changes)

But with so many factors in fortress, couldn't this also be true? Lag kills me but my team still wins Lag kills me and my team loses Lag wouldn't have killed me, but I would have died later in the round Round win, round lost Lag wouldn't hav ekilled me, and I stayed alive for the rest of the round ...

Re: Ladle 38+: Aliases (and a bit Seeding and Team Changes)

Unfortunately I have to leave soon or else I could back this up with more data. A) Those results you found actually are significant. In statistics, significance is the last thing you want to conclude if you don't do the mathematical procedures (confidence intervals, post hoc tests, etc.). Significan...

Re: Ladle 37 Voting Thread: CLOSED

Why must rules be made to make the ladle satisfactory by your standards? ! Can the mods please split this thread? =/ Trying to go...

Re: Ladle 37 Voting Thread: CLOSED

Back on topic:

SP voted no for seeding but I would have voted yes, individually. The thing is, to both sides of the argument, no one knows how the seeding will work. It is all about experimentation at this point. I love that we are experimenting with the ladle because it will only get better.

Re: Ladle 37 Voting Thread: CLOSED

I think @Ladle can work and the exemptions to that are so few that it wouldn't cause too many headaches. I don't think it should ever come to a level of "You used a player who used a name that isn't his normal one thus you are d/qed" but if it gets to a level that it is looked down upon (like it is ...
