Re: Weekly builds

There's a new PPA: https://launchpad.net/~armagetronad-dev/+archive/ubuntu/daily It gets fed by automatic builds from git from here: https://code.launchpad.net/%7Earmagetronad-dev/armagetronad/+git/armagetronad/+recipes The process is a bit of a Rube Goldberg machine. First, launchpad clones/updates...

The COVID-19 Crisis

So... how is everyone holding up? Apart from playing more tournaments :) Don't worry about me or my family. Job is secure, we were strongly urged to work from home Friday before the schools closed, I've got a borderline luxurious home office anyway, but the company also supplied shiny new laptops fo...

Re: And now we have git.

Ah. For project management purposes, yes. I think we effectively already left Launchpad and slipped into the "Z-Man handles all merge/pull requests" model. That's expandable, of course. I'd still be using Launchpad's services; I find the PPA build service quite essential and hard to replace with own...

Re: New engine please

I've been following Godot's development closely and agree 120% with Monkey's bump post. The extra 20% are that I think one should aim for no C++ code. C++ code complicates deployment to other platforms; it means that you need to be able to compile shared libraries/DLLs/whatever the platform equivale...

I probably also wouldn't try to have some sort of tagline relating growth of the game with COVID-19.
Fixed that :)
Now really would be a good time for a Steam release, too bad I haven't started on the paperwork early.

So does this mean the end of Launchpad too?
Probably not, they also support git repositories. And they could technically switch to breezy.

Re: And now we have git.

Does anyone have objections against declaring our GIT branches now the one true source? An issue has cropped up, that's why I'm asking. At the beginning of the year, Python 2 fell out of support completely. The original BZR implementation is based on Python 2, and it does not look like they're going...

Re: Donations

The donate button on Sourceforge is not that prominent. The site is also not really well frequented. I was being sarcastic and should have put in clearer markers. I don't think donation money would help because the main limiting factor here these days is not money, it's time. Even if someone bought...

Re: Errors compiling 0.4 on OpenBSD

This one?
I suppose we can generalize it with a configure check instead of just disabling it on windows, or just use pow(10,...) all of the time, or maybe just test for _GNU_SOURCE right there, as that seems to be the macro making exp10 available on Linux.

Re: Donations

We do have the very prominent "Donate" button on the much frequented sourceforge page: https://sourceforge.net/projects/armagetronad/ Leads here if you somehow can't find it: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?item_name=Donation+to+Armagetron+Advanced&cmd=_donations&business=donations%40armagetro...

Re: mini-TST 2

Server admins: If you still can, do a bzr pull. I just now pushed the fixes from 0.2.8.3.5 to the sty+ct branch. Only just now because I had forgotten I have write access to it for exactly this occasion. General updates from the 0.2.8 branch are included as well, hope they don't cause problems.

Re: 0.2.8.3.5 released

The zeroinstall streams and PPA are now updated. Ubuntu Trusty users (the statistically 0.27 of you still here): Something went wrong a while ago when I accidentally uploaded a higher version. Thing is, you can delete the accidental upload, but the version sticks and it won't accept anything older, ...

Re: mini-TST 9.2.20

Small notice: A storm is predicted to hit us this evening. Nothing too big, nothing dangerous (unless you create the opportunity for a tree to fall on your head), but power and internet may be unstable. We'll be fine, just maybe offline. My server's datacenter should be unaffected, the storm is goin...
