Re: Ladle 125 - May 2nd, 2021
I'll just drop by and say that a while ago I sat down a few hours to see whether a 3 round swiss would suffice to pick out the best 2 out of 5 teams, and it doesn't. Devil's advocate here: it does not have to pick the best 2; that the best team makes it to the final is enough to make it meaningful....

If you play 3 rounds of swiss with 5 teams the 2nd and 3rd teams will be tied in many scenarios, so you may as well schedule the tiebr...

Re: Growing our presence on twitch.tv
I'm thinking that if people are up for it, you could get on to stream a pickup game or some casual sumo while enough people are on, and as long as 4+ people open the stream you'll hit the 7 unique days with a 3+ viewer average in no time.

Growing our presence on twitch.tv
Here are some thoughts about our twitch presence and how we can grow it. Feel free to chip in with ideas. In the end it is up to sylla. 1. Syllabear is doing a fantastic job commentating events. While the main goal maybe isn't to attract outside viewers, the way to work towards that very much overla...

Re: A defense of a defense
There's plenty of proof ... There's also two routes I can take with it, one that I primarily do in pickup ... The other route I do more in ladle where I keep the same pattern without extra bumps, slowly hiding more as the round progresses ... Yeah I was talking strictly about ladle, and post-110 es...

Re: A defense of a defense
Nanu's bottle is very good. There's no way to centre attack and survive the triple back at the end, which is possible with most quicker bottles. The dents in the middle are significant against any attempts to cut, especially lackattacks. The setup is much more flexible than a step def in terms of ex...

Re: Seriously
I'd just like to say that the way we've ben handling things since I felt a need to start this thread has been better than I expected. It seems that we're working together to accomodate the newbies in a better way and, well, let's just hope they keep trickliing in.

Re: Armagetron ON Steam (2019) with steam direct
Median play time: 7 minutes. That means 50% of people who actually started the game made it past 7 minutes. I can't say I'm too surprised. I wanted an "authentic noob experience" when I got the steam client, and it put me in a local game 1v1 with a bot. Using z and x as turn keys, arrows ...
Re: Seriously
Thanks for your input. I very much agree that we should look back on what worked the first time the fort community grew. I really think that an M-Fort server might be best for this. We do have RetroCycles MegaFortress, US and EU both. Whenever we find ourselves getting a game going, a few vocal and ...
Seriously
We finally have our long-awaited steam release. For those of us who were playing back in January/February, back when there were like 9 regulars, steam was but a pipe dream and something we could only fantasize about. Then came the pandemic, and with it a relatively large amount of returning players ...

Re: What Size T-Shirt Do You Wear?
That green one is speaking to me! Slap it onto a white tee and I'll buy it. All of this is really awesome. Btw, I still have my black tee with the white glow-in-the-dark print from way back when. The glowy part of it is corny but in daylight it's a high quality shirt still! If any of you guys are on...
