Re: Donations

The donate button on Sourceforge is not that prominent. I'm not saying I'm the most observant person in the World but I missed it entirely and I've been playing this game for a long time. Also, we have to bear in mind that many people don't even visit the sourceforge page because Arma is in their OS...

Re: Discord-based tournaments, discussion

The main advantage of using Discord is that people can both signup/etc *and* communicate with other people. If they know how to use Discord then that's all they would need to know. Discord has a web interface to itself; it's what I use to access it (the downloadable software does not run on OpenBSD).

Donations

As I mentioned a couple of years ago in another thread, we really need the ability to donate money to support this project. I'm not really sure why this has not materialised yet. I donate to other projects and I'd like to donate monthly to this one too. Do the devs not want our money? I know that se...

Re: Discord-based tournaments, discussion

I'm not against using Discord for the near future for organising tournaments, I don't think it's any worse than using the Wiki or, as Light suggests, using a web-based interface. In the long run, I think we need tournament stuff to be built into the armagetronad client, however I know we are far off...

Re: Errors compiling 0.4 on OpenBSD

So, it's been 8 months and Stereo says that there has been some changes to 0.4 since then. I'm getting the following error now when compiling: mathexpr.cpp:1043:6: error: use of undeclared identifier 'exp10' *p*=exp10(*(p+1));} ^ 1 error generated. gmake[4]: *** [Makefile:449: libmathexpr_a-mathexpr...

Re: Errors compiling 0.4 on OpenBSD

Thanks for looking into it Z-Man, I'll be away for three weeks as of Sunday anyway. :) Here is some interesting information though: 0.2.8 does the same thing when I try to build it from source, however the OpenBSD ports system (which builds from source too) builds 0.2.8 perfectly fine. OK, the progr...

Re: Errors compiling 0.4 on OpenBSD

It's been almost 2 years since I last tried to build/play 0.4 and both LLVM/Clang and OpenBSD have moved on a lot. So, I'm trying to compile it again but I'm having some errors; details are as follows: Configure output: checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-openbsd6.5 checking host system typ...

Re: Bi-weekly

I'm not sure I'd mess around with the standard fortress map or physics willy nilly. Now I'm not saying that fortress is perfect but changing the current width or length of the map would change the gameplay quite a lot. With 6v6 or more people, IIRC, players on both sides of the start grind often sea...

ReactOS is now 12th on DistroWatch despite still only being in Alpha stage of development!
Haiku has climbed to 71st despite still only being in Beta stage of development.
OpenBSD is currently 77th.

Linux's days are numbered!

Re: Should We Rebuild the Wiki?

For what it's worth, I think Light taking over the wiki would be a good thing, including him having access to my username and password. I doubt any of the sensible people here would mind him taking it over.

Re: A public letter to Z-man.

Personally speaking, I have to say that, while I relate to your love of this game, I don't like your ideas here compguygene. There are quite a few successful open source games that don't have any of what you are proposing and, in my opinion, none of them have the gameplay and potential that our belo...
