Re: Armagetron Hall Of Fame

Lol, I got Nexuiz and man oh man... After being addicted to Tron for so long I forgot what three dimensions is really like. I got the worst headache :) But then got used to it.

Re: Armagetron Hall Of Fame

coolio, I can be part of the jury if you still want... Where do I report and what do I do?

p.s.: is flash absolutely necessary? Maybe there's some simple php alternative? I have oodles of experience hacking up phpBB forums.

shooting and invincibility

Hey, so for a shooting server, if someone is spawned and still considered "invincible", shots can still kill them. Is there any way to fix this?

hehe, so windows XP is your operating system. FreeBSD is a unix based system, to install it you'd have to basically reformat your entire hard drive and, well, that would be the "hard" way of doing what you want to do. FreeBSD and many other unix style OS's are available for download, and s...

Yeah, some of the versions have the command some don't. A simple comparison:

wild west fort shootout won't do rename or slap or any of that fun stuff, it's listed as version 0.2.8_alpha 2007 0719
and capture the flag shooting does do all that and is version
0.2.8_alpha 2008 0512

Okay, so I spent a few hours thinking about that tail thing that was posted a LONG time ago on this thread. What I did is: there are two files, a "talk_in" file and a "talk_out" file. The dedicated server is run via. that wonderful tail command given earlier (I have to use just t...

It was a BIG headache. mac, unfortunately, doesn't utilize the unix system as well as it should... The...

yikes! what a thread :) while you're at it, since yer using perl, just make an external file with a list of "bad words" and load 'em into a hash or something, you can put variable values directly into regular expressions. or was that already discusses ?:P would it lag the server if you had...

by raf's comment it sounds like it's a minor issue between the 3.0 server and a 2.8 client. It was updated to 3.0 for various reasons, one was the awesome addition of including IP addy's in the /players list for a logged in user, it really helps us identify unwanted and bad players. Plus it offers m...

server version 3.0 lagging?

Hey all,
So wild west recently upgraded some of its servers to 3.0 and since then we've had considerable lag on them. I'm really not sure of the source but I thought I'd post here and see if any of you awesome dev's have noticed slower data transmission in the newer version or something.
Thanks.

nice. You guys thought of everything :) We must be running the old version w/o IP's in player list - I'm just a mod/admin helping out so I'm not privy to logs and such, but I'm one in a team of helpers so it would be nice for us to be able to see it realtime so we can identify those troublemakers wh...

Suggestion: real-time IP info for admins

the subject says it all :) Just a tiny suggestion for future server versions and stuff. It would be nice for an admin to be able to see player IP addy's in-game so we can take care of consistent trouble-makers who keep changing names. This could be problematic if someone gets that admin pass or if t...

okay, I got a happy little perl parser done for anyone who wants it. It highlights player names with .dBd| tags and has a sort of sloppy HTML output but if you know even a little about perl you can go in and change all that. Here it is for anyone in the future who wants it all one needs to do is plu...
