keep preferences when updating

It has been a while since I updated last.
What files/folders do I need to copy in the new armagetron folder (I am under MacOS X) from the previus one to keep all my preferences and setup?

Thanks,

going through your own trail?

if i try a double bind turn in a 0 rubber server i explode within 5 seconds for no reason I think it is because you are going through your own pixel wide tail. I have observed the same phenomenon, but I am not sure it is only due to the zero rubber; the zero delay may have something to do with that...

Cycle delay back to where it was?

When I make a double-bind initiated U-turn it looks sharper (thinner) than a few days ago.

new settings

I like the new settings. It takes new skills to play in this room now, new strategies and new tactics. Yes you can grind. Yes you can still double bind keys but you can't hit them at the same time, you need to adjust a small time difference similar to rattling fingers. I have seen very little lag an...

Energy can be seen as a dimension but when you do express a system with energy as a dimension (as opposed to as a result), other dimensions (space or time) will fold (i.e: be converted) Time is *not* a construct of our perception. Sorry. This was a suggestion made in the previous millenium, but time...

time implication in Armagetron and strings stuff

doesnt time count as a dimension? if it does its definatly a 3dimensional game because time plays a part thus its viewed in the 4rth dimension. After all we live in 7nth dimensional hyperspace. im not kidding i think string theory proves my point. Time has as much implication in armagetron than in ...

Armagetron, a 2-D or 3-D game?

A few of us were playing last week and someone mentioned that armagetron was a 3-D game. I contend it is a 2-D game: we play on a flat grid. The camera can float on the z-plane, true enough, but the fight happen on the x & y-planes. I have never seen a bike jump over a wall (and that could be an...

more on da bug

The bug happens whenever the top player is the person playing. In other words, the two numbers on the lower left are the same; i.e.: 4 4 Looks like when the client knows it is the top player it won't update the top kill anymore (or the server won't update the top kill of the client who has the top s...

Top kill update bug on 2.7?

On the bottom far left there are two numbers showing how many kills you have made and the number of kills of the match leader. Sometimes, that second number does not update, even between games. If I press the Tab key, however, the number updates instantly.

wrt: tron not using full bandwidth

I may not have understood your question but I'm going to answer it regardless! You cannot make an application use the entire network bandwidth of the connection it is hooked to. If Tron only uses a few kbps to handle a game as a server with a few bikes then that is all it needs. That the computer is...

UDP vs. TCP

Well almost correct, but not fully. With TCP packets, the protocol takes care of packet orders, missed packets, duplicates, etc. With UDP, the application needs to take care of all of that. So when UDP packets arrive out of order, the application needs to re-order them. If a packet is missing or the...

Blocking might not be the answer at first

hm... I suggest you get the IP address to each of the players at the time of the crash and don't block them.
If there is a next crash, then see if you can match an IP address of the current players or a network range. That , most likely, will be the perpetrator.
