Re: Registartion Problems

lol... nice captcha ... requires some tron background to come up with "blue" as answer.

Forum Message should read: "Sorry, please return after having watched the Tron movie. You might know the "secret" passphrase then."

Open up - "Sesame".

also there might be some bandwidth limit, too ? not sure what will happen if there is a limit of 60kb/sec overall, and you've got more than 6 players... the server won't be able to deliver packets to all clients in time. A "freeze" might just be the client constantly getting old or missing packets?....

@z-man: yes, that is possible. I hope I have enough time to work on the themes abit too. Not sure how to set my priorities. Either update winbuilds, but akira_arma was nearly done with it OR help coding/fixing the themes (My part: paying atention to simplicity, CSS with "em" without global font-size...

wouldn't we need some good mentor ? ...

I'd really think the Armagetron code is a bit difficult for people who are new to C/C++ ... (I still feel "beginner" skilled in that regard.)

Im my opinion a mentor should be able to teach and understand the participants coding/design problems (if any).

how many people do we have that have an active interest in blogging ? I'm talking about writing entries not reading them. My suggestion would be to ask the guys from playfortress.wordpress.com to either mirror their blog with a different theme on armagetronad.net or help us out with maintaining anot...

@madmax: I think it is a good idea to suspend players by default rather than kicking them. ... but AFAIK it requires some protocol changes, because the server needs to know about it OR needs to convert a kick vote into a suspend vote.

Should we put anything about this in the wiki ? We might make a recommendation that tournaments are customized with "by Compguygene" or "Epsy's fff" if the name should be protected ? The addition owner's name should make the tournament name non-generic. If some tournament name is public domain or se...

@lack: great. I like the darker one better, except that I'd the colors with more saturation (I think) ... Can you try to give them 100% sat and if you want/like pastel colors you have to increase the lightness too (I think).

@z-man: thx, I think. You explained a good way to categorize "names" (IMHO). At first I thought Lucifer was all in favor of Copyright and DRM , but I guess it's just different perspective of the z-man's description. @hoax: I like the "toe"-analogy. What happend here is that compyguygene listened to ...

We can achive alot more if we work together and listen to eachother's motivations without second guessing. epsy really organized the last fff well (and knows al...

@lack: nice work! I hope you do not grudge my criticism. I'm surprised by all the work done (in a day?) . hehe, I really like the simplicity of the post layout (easy to understand) - absolutely no clutter. As for colours, why not use a dark gray or light gray background ? This should make it easier ...

I really like the idea, and I'm willing to contribute by coding/designing something which is not taken care of (my amount of time is limited though). About the forums: from my expierence and things I learned at university (user interfaces etc.) lines and borders tend to confuse. People are used to r...

We all learn and I would not have known either, because I've never looked at color rendering code. @Jonathan: AFAIK you investigates/documented all the color code at sometime.
