Re: making a dedicated server

Oh hey! Look at that. I'm obviously a ninny and didn't realize I had to use the IPA to connect, oooooooops. Thank you much! Now I can screw around at my leisure.

Re: making a dedicated server

I have it on the exception list for internet access, but I don't see how a firewall could block the client program from seeing the server prog. if it's on the same computer. I'm definitely missing something. I'll troubleshoot a little more tomorrow and come back with the results.

Re: making a dedicated server

Hello all! I figured that I wouldn't make a new thread since I have some questions on the same topic. I'd like to set up my server on my home PC (find the right settings, messages, look & feel etc.) so that I can easily make changes and test it. Once I'm done configuring it, I'll ask my sister t...

Haha, luck and timing!

Ok, I'll fool around with those commands. Thanks!

EDIT: Looks like it worked! At the cost of rubber going past faster, but that makes the server more interesting :D

Thanks again :P

Typos. Sorry, they bug me!

There are a few typos in the "About" page. I like the first one though, because it can just be seen as comic irony. We're now the official continuation of Armagetron, and things are rolling smothely . Don't hesitate to volunteer a sugestion on the forums, or if you're any good at programmi...

Ah, so that was you? It's hard to tell these days.

I'll put it at .007, that seems to be common among other servers.

Hmm. Now I can run into a wall and just stall there forever :(

I probably could do that before, but even if I could the delay didn't affect it.

About a week or two after I started playing (that long time ago), I stopped appreciating the game itself. Thank YOU clare for reminding me.

Woohoo! So, my server is up and running. I have most of the settings right for now, such as rubber, brakes and scoring etc. My only beef is that one can grind/dig infinitely indefinitely if you tap the brakes while hitting left and right at the same time. Seeing as this is the way most people who pl...

I'll look it over again, thanks for the reply.

Ah! Thanks for the advice, I found something that is probably a solution for my first problem (starting teh server to run). And thanks to Z-Man, if he will ever read this thread, for the wonderful proverb that was true in my situation.

What, would his name come out looking something silly like:
~~<.bTr.>~~JOE 733+5@x0r|\/|@|\|

People's names are being devoured by tags these days.

I do see your point though. Also, color codes take up a lot of space. More character room would be a help for those people who use them.

Linux is confusing. Help a man out?

Hello tron! I'm trying to set up a server. I managed to download the actual rpm file, but I don't use linux often (ever) and I'm running the serverbox from SSH and it's all rather confusing. All I want to do is start the dedicated server running, set the password, give it a name, and talk_to_master....

SP suspended?!

Whaaaa? The SP website is erased off of the intarwub! I can't even find a ghost shell of it! What happened, psyko? Did we exceed our bandwith? Or something else frustratingly stupid?
