Re: key rate on Linux

Though, you almost definitely don't want that small of a delay unless you like getting stuck in your own wall. Servers which use non-default values there typically use a more sane delay like 0.03 or 0.05. 0.001 would probably be a semi-healthy minimum.

Re: And now we have git.

There now is a fork of bzr called Breezy or brz, ported to Python 3. I noticed all this because Arch replaced bzr with it, breaking my local git-bzr. I don't think it does us any good here, git-bzr would need to be adapted to it. I've learned that Breezy supports git by itself, so one can `bzr push...

Re: Donations

No more max_clients than actual player slots. Gaaah! I would really prefer if the max_clients number on the server list could instead be made to show the maximum number of players in the server, but I don't know how that would really be handled. Maybe instead of clients and max clients, it could be...

Re: New build process based on Docker, make and GitLab CI

What has fallen flat: Mac builds. They're not impossible; we talked about the cross compilation from Linux approach; that could be integrated. I'm not too keen on using cross compilation for releases, though; how do you debug such a build? An alternative would be to have a native Mac runner somewhe...

Re: sn_SetNetState: Unable to open accept socket on desired port xxxx, Trying next ports...

With bzr/brz you should just be able to `bzr merge <branch>` assuming there are no conflicts or changes in the branch (well you can --force) $ bzr branch lp:armagetronad/0.2.8 Never a guarantee conflicts won't happen. Also I find it unlikely sty+ct will be getting any changes any time soon other tha...

Re: Ladle 114 (June 7th)

It seems there's only 2 ladle servers up, and one's 10 ladles out of date (kyle? P4?)

Grab configs here: http://wiki.armagetronad.org/index.php? ... figuration

Re: Dedicated server on raspberry pi

thanks for that nelg and thanks for your help in game found the random crashing is mostly due to the zones, any zone appears (win, death, zombie etc) the server crashes I think I've found all the relevant revisions to merge in from mainline, so +ap should work now. I'm told that these semi-manual m...

Re: KILL_ALL_SCRIPTS

BTW i think line 758 is wrong and should read static tAccessLevelSetter sr_killAllScriptALS( sr_killAllScriptsConf, tAccessLevel_Owner ); It looks to have changed later . I, for some reason, decided to hunt down (well, bzr blame) the revision it was added. This is the current source: https://bazaar...

Re: KILL_ALL_SCRIPTS

I believe this already existed in sty+ct+ap, though in typical Armagetron fashion probably not documented anywhere
EDIT: Yes, as of 2014 in revision 1010: https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~armagetro ... leCout.cpp

Re: pre_0.2.5 server in master server list

It's likely that it's a server that's down or otherwise cannot be polled. Not that it's *actually* identifying as "pre_0.2.5" version. A screenshot would tell for sure, though.

Re: Kevins Server Browser & DDOS Attempt

Hmm... I'm not seeing any errors related to your server. Investigating, I do see that the getServerInfo script when trying to connect to your server never seems to complete. In case that's the problem and until I can investigate further, I've temporarily blocked your server in that script. (The serv...

Re: Kevins Server Browser & Ping floods

I've never noticed anything like that in any of the servers I'm running. Either way, the server browser pings servers every 20 seconds. If a server is unreachable, it gives up after 3 attempts. I've cleared the cache just in case though. Also, misleading original title but a nice play on the Kevin's...

Re: Armagetron ON Steam (2019) with steam direct

Version to publish: I'd go with builds from the 0.2.8 branch. 0.2.8.3 is ancient by now. Master has too many loose ends, but could be offered as opt-in beta, if I understand it correctly. I'd personally prefer if 0.4 were used instead of 0.2. 0.2 has bad font scaling (which looks suspiciously a lot...

Re: Armagetron - Web Browser Port

Okay okay... This was a sort of an April Fools joke announcement, though it's not that much of a joke outside of calling it a "port". This is a full re-write (which I have called 3DCycles) that's heavily inspired by Armagetron. It's not fully compatible with Armagetron. Let's start at the network co...
