Here we go again (dedicated server)

Post by xtrapoint »

Ok so I've wanted to make a dedicated server so I downloaded the file etc. and when I click on armagetronad-dedicated it says this: /Volumes/Armagetron\ Advanced\ Dedicated/Armagetron\ Advanced\ Dedicated/armagetronad-dedicated ; exit;
Internal Error: Internal error in static tLanguage* tLanguage::FindStrict(const tString&) in /Users/manuel/Desktop/Tron/Builds/armagetronad-0.2.8.3.2/MacOS/../src/tools/tLocale.cpp:150 :

So I guess since it says that, this is the place I should post it so how do I fix this?

ok I got it to work, but what's the easiest way to tell if it's actually working after I put in launchctl start net.armagetronad.armagetronad-dedicated? (I can't really tell) It said that it loaded then i put in the previously stated code is that all i need to do

PS does the server need to be open before I run the command through terminal or is there a order I have to do things in?

O never mind :P I found out how to do it (/me finds out eventually when I think it out) btw I did the manual and it worked soo... lol.
But now I have a server open(idk why) that just say unnamed server and I can't change it's settings (ie if i use a sinclude or just put in a command it'll act like it has already been set when apparently it hasn'e, it's weird I "quit" and all but... Also when I just do host game it works. I hope I'm not asking too much :P

But anyways here's what happened after I put in the manual open:

That's a sign that several other dedicated servers are still running in the background. You should go find them and kill them (does 'killall armagetronad-dedicated' work on OS X?), or you won't be able to tell your client to connect to the right one easily. Especially, if you only forwarded one port, that's going to be the only server visible on the master list.

Other than that, there is no sign of a server name change in that output, so yeah, it would still be named "Unnamed Server".

Ok killall works and it also seems that launchd worked too and that's why there was alot (had to quit some processes in activity monitor to stop it but all's good) now it shows them as unreachable so I assume it's fine.

On the Internet browser? Yeah, that's quite normal.
