Thats because the master server is probably still down, and you guys are just looking at an old server list, your friend will need to know your ip address to connect to directly, under "custom connect"

have you set up your router to, forward packet to the computer serving the game. Ie forward the packets going to the armage port 4534 to 192.168.1.x , where x is the ip address of the computer you are serving armagetron

Yes, you have a wireless router, and that is what you need to configure. You'll need to login to your router, typically by using a web browser pointed at 192.168.1.1, and to do so you will need to know the routers administrator login and password. Once there, you will need to configure port forwarding, sending the traffic on port 4534 to the local ip address of the computer on your network that is running the game server.

If I am wrong about this, somebody please let me know as I plan on doing this sometime in the future as well.
Like this, this is exactly how i did it a few weeks ago, so yes maj spot on.

Good article, Maj. Although, I'm stuck with my old D-Link Router I purchased for $49.00 years ago. :)

It's hardline, not wireless.

ive found the problem is a bug in version 0.2.6.0 & 0.2.5.2 host

install 0.2.5.1 and your game will show correctly (as long as the MCP is online that is)

ive not compared the source code yet but there is a real problem with the name not being sent to the master server or something is getting corrupted

0.2.5.2 and 0.2.6.0 seems to be very hit and miss but hosting on 0.2.5.1 shows up in the list every time ! so something has definately been altered

That seems odd- I've had no problem setting up a dedicated server, on any version. In fact, I thought that z-man pretty much left the network code alone because it was pending an entire re-write. Sure it's not just the master server going up and down?
