Out of desperation I tried putting map version="1" and then the weirdest thing happened...some one logged in! then I looked at my log again and another person logged in! It seems that things are too good to be true is there any downside to using map version="1"?

hmm I think I'll make this my thread for problems XD with that in mind...
--bump--
On the wiki on sty it gives you bzr branch when I dl'd it it worked perfectly except it doesn't allow global_id at all(so technically players LITERALLY can't login :P) it says command global_id unknown (on both the launchd way and manual) but then I try doing a standard dedicated server w/out the sty and it lets me login
/me is confused.

The wiki page is probably just outdated. Can you point to it so it can be corrected?

Personally, I don't know any server admins that run the sty branch. The most up to date version and well maintained is the sty+ct branch. The wiki page for it is found here. If you research it, you will find the majority of servers out there are running this branch of the code.

I used that branch, it worked, but it randomly crashed me from time to time.

Are you running a home hosted server? Or are you running on a VPS or server in a Data Center?

It's home hosted, I had someone offer to host for a good price but I haven't done all the testing I wanted to experiment with.
