Yeah, bit of an oops on my part. Should of been a lot lower, fixed now.
FFIIXXIITT wrote:agreed, isn't re-quoting re-quoted quotes of quotes spam?
Only if taken to ridiculous lengths.
FFIIXXIITT wrote:Though I am not entirely innocent to this myself I can say that your game Z-Man is not family friendly at all. All due to the ability to say whatever. Is there a chat filter for the game on the server end and if so why do most servers decline the use of it?
No one said the game was supposed to be family friendly, just the forums. Individual servers have their own rules - we don't control them. But because of the forums being central to the entire game we aim for the family friendly here. (Although I suppose I made that decision before the forums became central...)

FFIIXXIITT, I really don't think that you get the point here. Nobody that really matters around here wants to ban you, or even get rid of you. One of the beautiful things about a relatively small videogame community like this, where the programmers are part of the community, is that every member of the community is valued. That includes you. However, the culture around here that has developed is one mutual respect, hearty and well reasoned debates, and fun that any English speaking person in the world could join in. We just want you to try better to "fit in". There are 7 other people that read these forums that share similar beliefs that you and I share about 9/11, etc. However, you won't find us posting in these forums about it much, in fact hardly at all.
One of the things you will discover, if you allow yourself, is that religious and political debates are really discouraged on these forums. The reason is simple. The range of political and religious views of the members of this community are as widely varied as the views held by all Europeans and North/South Americans. That is a good thing. What we really focus on are the things we have in common. First and foremost is an absolute love for everything that Armagetron can do as a game, social venue, and platform for competitions. Other things most of us share in common is a love for having fun.
Compguygene's Signature wrote:Armagetron: It's a video game that people should just play and enjoy
That is my signature on these forums to serve as a constant reminder to anybody that bothers to read it just what the forums and game are about. Have you read through any of the debates that have run 6-10 pages about changing one setting for the Ladle Tournamnet? We are darned serious about our fun around here! I spend hours a week playing with the servers that I host just to make them better and more fun! This is my hobby dude! And you will find that Armagetron is a creative outlet for many of us in the form of artwork, graphics, and server creation!
Look at the fun topics to be found in this subforum. There are topics about other videogames, Math, Science, random videos, etc. If your going to make a post in "Really General" get creative. Personally, the topic that I am most proud of have caused to be created by a topic split is my World Famous Fried Chicken and Ribs topic on the Crazy Tronners, Forums...hmmm time to make some Fried Chicken and post about it! The topic is up to 6 pages, has been made a sticky, and has several recipes in it! STOP BEING SO DARNED SERIOUS AND HAVE SOME REAL FUN, PLEASE!

I hate to just agree with you guys without any sort of struggle, but I have been so wrong that I don't have any place to fight from besides maby calling it retaliation for my first ban and that would be rather juvenile. I haven't worked on graphics in weeks and know that is one of my strong suits around here. Also there is a bug in my older arma that happens when I rewrite the square map xml file that occurs on the online servers: what happens is the server recognizes its own square file and my client recognizes its own so say I made a 1x1 square and went to yellow sub. My end would show the map I made but operate under the specifications of what the server sees as the square map. in effect going through walls or having no walls yet the invisible boundaries exist as specified by the servers copy of the square map.

There's no chat filter in the game because those are really easy to evade and still be rude. At most, they can be fun and turn casual swearing into hilarity.

And that's not a bug. If you mess with your files, you break stuff, what did you expect?

I'm going to disagree with Compguygene. We don't even want you to "fit in", we value everyone's uniqueness, whatever it may be.

We just want you to quit acting like a smeghead. Don't make these petty, childish threats when you don't get your way. Don't spam us with crap nobody cares about except you. If you want to educate us on an issue that's important to you, then engage us with your own words and views.

In short: don't change your personality, we don't care about that. Learn and use some real communication skills.

Looking back, I see your point, Lucifer.

Perhaps he could take the good points I made, and your advice.

Right...
compguygene wrote:religious and political debates are really discouraged on these forums.
This has never been true, and should never become true.

What should be discouraged is being deliberately ignorant, unread, unthinking, uncritical, credulous, irrational, anti-intellectual, boastful, destructive, faux-rebellious. Posting fiction as "truth." Repeatedly violating rules for the very sake of it. Ban evasion. Using other people's names in game. In general, being a spoiled rotten jackass, and proud of it. Spitting in people's faces then telling them it's love elixir. In short: The entirety of what Fixit has done on this forum, excluding his textures.

"I rarely use ffiixxiitt because of my notoriety." Delusions of grandeur. Predictable and characteristic. You're a nobody, but the worst kind: In your incessant, loud, vulgar, ostentatious efforts to bring attention to yourself and create a false sense of being a "somebody," you've just made yourself an irritating nobody.

not that he isnt wanted(....), but no need to bump his topics unless you have something to contribute. we have ripped on him enough and i THINK (and hope) he understands what he must do to earn our respect and to be taken seriously again. you are just repeating what other ppl have said in fancy eloquent words.

Ah well regardless of my perceived persona here on the forum I am no nobody. I do believe that society is at a turning point and I am very glad to be alive in this exiting time in history. A global government is being set up at meetings like Builderburg where world elites decide what they will do with the world in the following year to bring their goal of global domination into being. I have seen first hand at a much smaller scale how this works with my local school board. The elected school board meets at the beginning of their term and decide as a whole who will vote for what issues and what issues are brought forward throughout the year. This country has become far worse than Soviet Russia, Communist China, or any other extremely tyrannical .country in all of known human history. We are not on any road to recovery as we have reached depression level unemployment and as a teen looking for a job seeing a 20% unemployment rate in my peers alone I fear for the future of my once great nation. Obama brought to us one of the biggest puppets in the history of American presidency as he lies to us daily while the country I was born into dies the death of many countries before us. Nobody knows how great this nation is, we have forgotten our power as the sovereignty of this nation and have given our power up the the false authority of the police and government. Ignorance runs deep amongst the general population but it is no excuse for the elite who pride themselves by thinking that they are better than us. **** race wars we have a class war going on and it has been going on as long as the power has been given to sociopaths and psychopaths to have power over the poor in society. It has been admitted by TEPCO that the 3 reactors at Fukushima already had full meltdowns and radiation still contaminates the air we breath anywhere in the northern hemisphere; this means either we need a cure for cancer or that we are simply the walking dead and as such we have nothing to lose! Your children are ****** by Your decision to do nothing generation X so **** you. Redeem yourselves and pick up the most powerful weapons god has given to us. Words will topple the tyranny and if not than at very least they will topple me here. This post is risky and I know it is I only hope you fools have the sense to keep me around. peace be with you and remember you are in the no-mans-land of the following wars: the drug war, the info war, the spiritual war, and the war for global domination.

"Why is Punctuation Important"
Jeff Rubin wrote:Without punctuation you would not be able to express your feelings in writing not to mention know when to pause or stop or ask a question or yell at someone (a run-on sentence). And without punctuation (a semi-colon) you would not be able to separate independent clauses; do you know what those are? (This is an example of two independent clauses.)
I really don't read your posts because it is tasking, and frankly the content is not worth the effort it takes to decipher it. If you want respect, at least use grammar.

Stop referring to the USA as "this nation" and "we"

This is by no means primarily a USA forum.

Yes, what Mkay said. And, again, stop referring to fiction as truth. Seriously, you're living in a deluded fantasy engendered by your willful ignorance. There are plenty of real problems in the world to get in an uproar about. All you're doing is belittling and taking attention from those, which makes you worse than the fictional bogeymen and conspiracies you rail against. "Human trafficking? Corporate crime, fraud, and abuse and a new Gilded Age? Plutocrats and profligates? Pfft, forget that stuff, all lies. Look at that ogre hybrid controlling fairies with mind-altering laser beams made from time-dilated mystical moss!"

Syllabear, this is by no means primarily a European forum, either, despite your frequent chauvinist proclamations.

Oh come now Phyto, surely you know "not USA" doesn't mean European. And don't forget, I'm Hong Kong by nationality too.

It's "Bilderberg", not "Builderburg". it's named after the Hotel de Bilderberg, where they had their first meeting.
