Random Screenshots Thread
Re: Random Screenshots Thread
oh wow, I didn't see that. it shouldn't happen!
Re: Random Screenshots Thread
We only maintain the order of network messages where it matters Quirks like that are tolerated mostly to allow easy implementation. It'd be possible to just as easily keep things ordered, but at the cost of more latency.
Re: Random Screenshots Thread
I've seen my own chats come out in the wrong order, even by large margins up to 2-3 minutes

Re: Random Screenshots Thread
See? If we ordered them, you'd be waiting those minutes for anything to happen at all (well, at least for chats by other people). Unless we do the really complicated (and probably confusing) thing of re-ordering them in the console output.
Re: Random Screenshots Thread
It will not be soooo confusing, i.e. I know this because of Skype.Z-Man wrote:(and probably confusing) thing of re-ordering them in the console output
Re: Random Screenshots Thread
lol i once said two sentences while my screen froze and they were displayed in the wrong order too

Re: Random Screenshots Thread
Next up I have a couple of series of pics. There are two events, and I took several shots of each. I liked the majority of them and couldn't pick out just one or two to share, so I'm uploading the lot of them. But, I'm not going to deluge the thread with individual attachments. Rather, as you see, I made a couple quick-and-dirty, low quality thumbnail sheets, and then attached zipped folders of the full screenshots for anyone who wants to see them in full.
First up, Fun with FOV in "Adventures of TRON: TRON Experience." Textures used are here. You'll notice I cropped a bunch of these, eliminating what was black space.

Re: Random Screenshots Thread
And the second series.
Note that there are two folders, as I had to split them to accommodate the 2MB upload limit.

Man, those are right in tune with art direction of the movie. The first post reminds me of entering the computer through the laser. The second post feels "noisy," something most people here fail to capture. Noise is a HUGE part of the look of TRON. People get too caught up in the neon though.

Word. That's something I noticed you properly employed in your textures. (And the new stupid movie doesn't.)
However, in this particular case, I probably should have mentioned that the noisy floor effect isn't created with a floor.png texture (although different textures can produce somewhat different noise and even moire characteristics). Rather, it's just the deal of setting GRID_SIZE[_MOVIEPACK] to silly low values, plus "nearest" detail. And if you hadn't deduced, the ones where there's flat color are where the floor is set to "just grid" (er, I think—this was, wow, actually about a year ago that I took those). I thought it odd how it got all polygonal.
And yes, stoners, the noise moves around. Woo.

That's neat. Maybe you can get a custom although not-so-custom rank from Tank?
