Cool. It also illustrates nicely why I was against using SVG direcly for maps :)

Yeah, it's really hacky to use lines for zones, but what the heck, it works. The SVG implementation is never gonna be perfect anyways, and it doesn't need to be, as long as you can take inkscape and use it to unlink all references and convert everything to paths :)

Anyways, you can make cool maps with it, so it does have some use.

Assuming you use inkscape:

Use the pen tool to draw a straight line (click on two points, then press enter), then use the fill and stroke dialog to set an end marker (doesn't matter which one, but it makes most sense to use an arrow).

1) I'm using illustrator
2) All of dlh's links are broken
3) How the f*** do I convert? I tried Inkscape but it was WAY too frustrating.

Export your illustrator file as SVG then use a converter like this one to make it XML. If you can't make it happen with illustrator, then you'll have to get "un-frustrated" and learn inkscape. Or, just code your maps by hand like the pros do.

actually inkscape does not save circles as an ellipses element which turns into problems when you want zones.

I still whish there was a nice editor that tailored to what i want to do. I like to pin point exact locations, which you can't do in armabell. I've already exposed one of inkscapes problems, it also factors in thickness of walls, so the points i set are off unless i use 0 point lines.

I keep thinking about looking at vectortron some more.
