Ladle Recordings

Post by PyrrhicVictory »

So here's a common problem, sorry to bother you once again. I'm having problems playing ladle recordings. I looked through all the other recording-topics and found no answer.

When I open the recording, everything looks like this:

I waited for a few minutes, nothing changed.
Could this have to do with AA version .4 being on my Mac? I still don't know how, but somehow they are connected (like I had to delete .3 to get .4 to run)
Do I have to delete .4 to play back those recordings? :/ or put some changes into autoexec.cfg so it looks normal?
Thanks already :)

You need to have played the 0.2.8-version you have installed at least once. That will seed the relevant config files with valid texture settings, right now they are invalid.

How can I watch recordings on my mac? Every time I try, it seems to convert it into some Adobe Reader format.

1. Download Armagetron Advanced .3
2. open recorder
3. select "play"
4. select "play recording"
5. choose a downloaded recording (aarec file)
6. enjoy!

What I'd like to know if the recordings page will be back up soon (http://armagetron.kicks-ass.net/~manuel ... ecordings/) or is there another site?

It would surprise me if that version turns out to be able to play back ladle recordings. Stick to 0.2.8.3.1 or whatever was the current stable version at the time of the recording.

Will be up again soon (9 days, hopefully), no, no mirror available.

The problem is, all my files end up looking like this when I download them and none of them work

And? That is how random files without a default application the OS knows about look like, isn't it? You need to open them yourself with the recorder application, that is all.

Everything seems to work fine until after I select the file. It says "playing" but nothing happens. Here is a picture.

Any idea what the problem is? :/
