Having strange lag

I always thought my internet is perfect and I never had any problems in European servers before (except if it was server lags). I was also able to download 1.1mb/s with uTorrent and play Armagetron with 120 ping (it was a bit worse but still playable) but from recently I have some troubles with slides. Every turn I make it first shows me that I turned where I wanted but then it just moves me for like another centimeter away and it's really annoying I also noticed my ping in Empha's (it used to be under 30) but now it jumps from 40 - 70.

And yeah I know you Americans are struggling with that problems all day and I know it's really tough for you so please don't start bitching here, I just want this to be fixed so I can own you all again.

You mean you lag/slide while downloading? That's normal. All the time? Not my area, check your isp, could be the server too, maybe.

Seventy ms is rather low and shouldn't itself be the culprit. (Under 30 is silly low.)

Obvious question first: Do the lag slides occur only when you're downloading stuff? If so, then duh, stop downloading stuff (that you presumably shouldn't be downloading in the fist place). Similarly, are you running any programs in the background? Anything.

If they occur even when not downloading or running other programs, is it a case where your ping is relatively stable, but the lag slides occur on every turn? Or, is your ping erratic and you're only sliding in conjunction with a spike? Is this only in one server, or any server?

hah no, I just said that BEFORE I could play Tron while downloading and still wasn't that bad as it is NOW when I have every other program closed but I still slide.
