Stats/Ladder

Post by DarkChaos »

I've seen multiple topics for this, but do I haft to have it hosted on my computer? Because, I have my server setup with Luke-Jr. Also, I would like a way to setup it up without phpBB.
Thanks

The stats are just simple files in the server's var directory. You can copy them wherever you want (to a different machine, like your web server) and have the presentation script fetch them from there. So all you need is access to those files and your possibilities are endless.

So if i upload my stat files to some webspace, Armagetron will automatically write into them? I thought you needed a static i.p.?

Eh? I don't understand these questions. Probably the answer to both is "No". Nothing will happen automatically, you'll have to care for the upload yourself, and static IP has nothing to do with it.

Sorry.
How do you get armagetron to write on the uploaded files, rather than the ones in the var directory?

You don't. You copy it yourself, perhaps using some script.

Wheres the var directory located? If I got the files from the computer Luke-Jr is hosting the server on, it wouldn't constantly update. Would it? If so, sense I would have the stats on a web host, I'm assuming the files would need to be uploaded.

By default, ~/.armagetronad/var on the server; ~/ is the home directory of the user running the server, which is you if you have a login there. But it can be anywhere, you'll have to ask Luke how the servers are set up.

No, downloaded files usually don't update on their own.
