Oh boy I wish this comment was on the first page... I love the idea NixOS. I also hate the idea. If you limit yourself solely to single-file config like that, you're somewhat locked-in to a given ecosystem. That's not really linux - but at the same time, there are some very useful fundamentals here....

I totally forgot about the process spawning behavior with named pipes. Yikes. Reason #100 why I don't bother with them.
