You can still join servers that say "Experience needed", It is just a pain to know if there is anyone there or not.

Also, I noticed sometimes it doesn't like to allow you to enter a password when logging into a global ID (workaround: just hit up to username and hit down again and it should start working again.) This happens to me too except that it's everytime, not just sometimes. The workaround works for me too...

The pi 3 probably could handle it, if you have a good SD card, you just don't need extremely good because the pi cannot handle those.
